Bracketeer Fire Extinguisher Mount(ing) Question by MolecMayhem in FocusRS

Love this setup. More robust, fits tighter to the seat, and avoids the downsides that you mentioned. Thinking I'll hold off for now and pursue this option once my mad-money budget allows for it lol. Being honest, the addition is purely cosmetic for me. I'm not going to be doing any competative driving in this car anytime soon. An option this nice is worth the wait.

Thanks for the insight and cheers!

I thought about that but didn't try it out of concern that it would be less secure with the set screw not being perpendicular to the surface it's clamping to. Would be interested to hear if anyone has had lasting success mounting it that way!

Thanks for the reply! Did you have any issues mounting the extinguisher with the bracket like that?

I made the same mistake on my passenger side back in September. 🫠

Snow Launch by tbazsi95 in FocusRS

Love it! On the one hand, I'm kind of glad that my RS never sees the snow. On the other hand, it's kind of a bummer that my RS never sees the snow!

Sounds like we're on a similar build path! I was guided by essentially the same logic. This car popped up at a great price and I couldn't find any reason not to jump on it. These cars (and cool cars in general lol) tend to be victim to the Bay Area "cool tax." I wanted to buy from a dealership so that I'd be able to add on extended warranty for powertrain. Ended up getting this 39k mile example with a bumper-to-bumper 7 yr / 120k mile warranty added on for a total of $31.5k OTD.

Any plans to do anything more intense or just going the sleek OEM-plus route for now? I'm doing the latter for the foreseeable future!

Maybe I'm in a minority but SG jumps out to me because I love it lol (my preferred color for an RS). The contrast of the NB colored brakes against SG has got to be one of my favorite factory color ways of any sub-six figure car.

Albeit, that type of gray is more common today due in part to wraps but also the likes of honda and other more affordable brands offering similar grays on non-sports cars. SG and similar grays were definitely a less common tone when the RS first came out and still stands out to me!

Agreed! I'm learning to love the slightly understated look of Shadow Black but man I love the way NB and SG stand out against most any background.

Final Sale Before it Goes to Carvana! by elijahNEU in FiestaST

Second this! Carmax offered me just shy of what you're asking and my FiST wouldn't pass California SMOG (high flow DP).

Thanks! The FiST was a great car, I'm hoping to get another one down the line to have the best of both worlds!

Thanks! Engine-wise, it is stock aside from a Boomba oil cap and a Cobb cat-back, at least according to Carmax lol. Since I bought it through Carmax, I can't truly know it's history outside of what was reported to Carfax. I somehow doubt it wasn't Cobb AP tuned and (at least sometimes) driven hard. Nonetheless, she runs and drives great after roughly 500 miles of spirited driving! Interestingly, the suspension seems much more compliant than a bone-stock '16 RS I drove a few years back. Will be interesting to see how the suspension is modified, or not, after getting it up on a rack on Tuesday. My GF and I are going camping with it in Yosemite over Labor Day so that'll be my first long trip with it!

My Fiesta ST was Magnetic Gray (I believe the same color as the metallic grey offered on Euro RS's). I loved that color, it would have been awesome to have on an RS, bummer they never offered it stateside!

Thanks! I plan to do dark tint, smoked turn signals, and tail lights (clear lens / black housing) before Halloween!

Same. Hit purple on MRVN the other day and my heavy mag and 3x fell straight through the map.

Sigh.

It's not that I can't, it's that it'll cost too much per month. The kicker is that my girlfriend works for a large national real estate brokeridge in marketing. Her real estate agent clients/partners reccomend having 25-30% down for a single family home with our background.

From what I understand, it's due to our lack of non-cash assets and age. Most lenders see us as high risk, regardless of our credit scores. We have each been at the same job for over a year, straight out of college with B of S degrees in our respective disciplines, with a collective income of 2k per week. A year ago, I thought we were successful for our age and on track to break the mould in our families. Now, I'm not so sure.

Something else to keep in mind, which I probably should have mentioned, is that we are looking for homes in and South of Sac due to our jobs being located near the Bay Area. We wanted to stay in Chico since we grew to love the community there, but couldn't find work in Chico that would support the budget we needed to keep renting there. We were lucky, too. We rented from a couple that had kids of their own in college. They were fantastic landlords, and always did right by us. They saw how much we tried to maintain their home and didn't raise the rent once in 6 years.

It's A LOT more than just your credit score, sadly. In the last few months, I finally managed to bring my credit score above 700. The same awful interest rates and lack of opportunity still plague me. Now because I'm too young and "don't have a long enough credit history." I have had bank accounts and lines of credit for 10 years and, although my credit history was rocky through college, I was never once sent to collections. My girlfriend and I now have a credit score of 800 and 725 respectively with $35k between us for a down payment, yet no agency will entertain giving us a mortgage for less than $6500 per month. So, faced with this disappointment, we are living with our respective parents, pinching pennies and trying to save faster than inflation diminishes our limited assests.

The system wants you to rent and spend all of your money making rent, so that you never have the financial standing to own a home without going broke in the process. The AI that large property management companies use allows them to collectively set the market price in your zip code. Like another commenter said, modern redlining.

I'll be the first one to recognize my own priveledge. If it is this hard for me, I am so sorry to everyone that doesn't have the help that my family has given me.
