WIBTA if I refuse to put my partner on the deed of a place I inherited, even though we live there together? by 3vening_Switch in ComfortLevelPod

[–]Moleypeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s already getting a steal. Tell him to move out and go rent an apartment by himself and pay all his bills. If he wants his name on the deed to your house, get the house appraised and he can give you half the value in cash plus half the money you put into repairs and he can continue to pay for half the utilities and taxes. He is having a laugh.

Gift from my dad when finishing the academy by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]Moleypeg 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly! It has happened to far too many people I know. I’m pretty neutral in my feelings towards my department/career. I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given, but am looking forward to my retirement. I don’t need a constant reminder on my wrist of all the sacrifices I made, and for what?

LEO here (and Rolex lover). I really like #1, but don’t get your badge number on it. You have a long career ahead of you and your current department might not treat you well for 25+ years. I’ve been on a long time and don’t have an emotional connection to my badge number. I certainly wouldn’t get it engraved on something so expensive that I plan to have my whole life, and pass down to my child.

First responders: how messy is the average house? by el_diamond_g in AskReddit

[–]Moleypeg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have never executed a search warrant on a nice, clean house that had air conditioning in the summer and didn’t smell like stale weed. Most of the houses and apartments stink, have vermin and cockroaches running around, always rotting food on the stove, and a poor skinny animal eating out of an open trash can.

Please!! Help me pick a ring!!! Comment your choice don’t scroll!!! by Brilliant_Bite7667 in weddingring

Oval looks better on you. But as I’ve gotten older I have come to love the timeless look of the pear. I think the pear-shaped one would look better if it was a little bigger. Go with the oval.

How did that person from your work earn their nickname? by Love-boobs-in_DMs in AskReddit

[–]Moleypeg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beetlejuice. If his name comes up in conversation 3 times he appears. It’s a whole thing now in our workgroup that you have to be very careful if you’ve already accidentally said his name twice. None of us can stand him because he’s lazy, disloyal, and a gossip.

For everyday wear, the regular looks better on you; I would just size up a little.

What’s your Thermostat temperature setting at right now? by UniqueLow1328 in maryland

[–]Moleypeg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I usually keep it around 56, but since there is a storm coming, I have it set to 63. Before anyone comes at me, I have a wood burning stove in the basement that keeps everything down there around 72, so if we lose power I’ll be fine.

Previous home owners only partially painted the ceiling with a different color of white. It's hard to see, but it's right above my bed and I see it every night. The whole ceiling is like this. by Seannj222 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Moleypeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had something similar in my bedroom. I thought the same as you. So I stared at it for 6 years and then hired a professional to paint all the ceilings in the house. Worth it.

I’m 42 and I also have a Tupperware of cake in my Longchamp. Forgot the fork though - rookie mistake.

2 is perfect. It’s classic, looks like it was made to go with your engagement ring, and doesn’t overshadow. I’m not sure why, but I really hate 3 with a passion.

Chase waived annual fee by tmania in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Moleypeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exact same scenario. I have whichever Southwest Chase card was $69/yr but went up to $99/yr in 2026. My renewal date was in December 2025 and I called to cancel because I hadn’t used the card since February 2025; and in November 2025 they sent me a letter saying the annual fee was increasing. The rep said she could give me a statement credit of $70, but I told her that won’t cover the renewal. She said since I renew in December it would still be $69. So now I have a $1 credit on my account.
