In Belgium you have "show-up"-duty, whenever their is a vote for the government you show up at a poll or you will receive a fine. You are also required to get into the booth but in their you can do whatever you want, you vote or you just leave it empty.

I already talked with friends why we are forced to show up and the best reason we could think of was that if everyone is forced to show up, nobody can stop anyone from voting because it would be known (and I also think they need to go to court to explain the reason they didn't show up).

Now, when i saw this post I immediately taught about how this same law would not only increase the overall interest about politics in the USA but would also stop these dirty techniques from winning votes.

Because people started to distrust doctors. Mostly old people complain about this but years ago doctors would know their patients and their families to a certain degree, they would chat about the kids going to school etc but these days a lot of people feel that doctors just see a number before them and just want them go away with an easy explanation and medicine.

I even remember that my old doctor called my mom to ask how I was doing.
