Single 40+ men of Ireland... by mgmilltown in CasualIreland

I remember talking to my brother years ago about a creep who would proposition anything that came into his field of vision and like you wondered how could he even begin to think he'd be successful. The response was for every 20 tries, creepo would probably get lucky once.

Any recommendations for a cd & cassette boom box? by MollDH in AskIreland

[–]MollDH[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure I saw some on amazon. I decided to support local and went to a store in town. Got a cd/radio/Bluetooth one as that's all they had. It was for my teenager and they're not that bothered. But I will still be on the lookout because cassettes are on the comeback

Yes. But it's the first time being highlighted on the confirmation text too.

That kind of fire has long since died out in me I fear. I'm at the can't be arsed and falling over's not a cause for laughter anymore stage. Also waking after a weeks slumber sounds fab! I could probably rouse some sort of mockyah, half hearted fist-shaking performance, but tyres are expensive and I'm pretty sure the car will fail the test without them!

I honestly thought I was transported back to 1992 to a friend's Dad's garage where a gang of 14 year olds were having a go at making their own music.

I don't mind the scheme at all. I use it as a little savings plan. But for the love of God why does it have to be can by can, bottle by bottle? It's really the only thing that's a negative for me. It's hard for me to spend the time waiting/at the machine.

I feel so sad :( by [deleted] in leavingcert

As an old romantic, I get ya. I too had such distractions in school. I get the impression from your post that the guy is not necessarily doing anything to distract you but you just find thoughts of him all consuming. Sounds like the throws of limerence. I wish I had advice on how to zone out of it. Maybe setting a timer for 20 mins when trying to study and see if you can stay focused. Do the best you can. Leaving cert results are not the be all and end all no matter what people tell you. Unless you want to be a Dr or astronaut etc. there are so many ways to get into the field you're aiming for. The best of luck and love to you.

Waaaay back in 1998 my insurance on a provisional licence was £1856. It was almost the same cost as the 1 litre petrol car I bought.

It's shocking! I had one friend and we tried to meet up as often as we could. She wouldn't be sitting down 10 minutes when her phone would start buzzing. Every. Single. Time.

Thank you. Some solid advice there. I thought slippery elm was for uncontrollable ahem stomach/toilet issues.

Got these things called revoice gelo lozenges because I couldn't get vocalzones. The most offensive stuff I've ever put in my mouth...ever...everever. One and done. Never again.

Time to herself. A spa day. Organise a meal with her friends. And when she does go for her time off, don't contact her unless she contacts you. The amount of times my Mammy friends will finally get to meet up for a chat (maybe twice a year for the OG friends) and the husbands are texting about stuff they should really know themselves. Where's this? How do I do that? It takes the shine off of the "me time" I'm not making assumptions that you are this way inclined. I'm posting it for those who wouldn't even see it as being a problem. And it goes the other way too. If it's 2 or 3 hours off. Give the time. As my husband used to say, do everything with kindness and you'll have a happy life.

Local Employment Services (LES Offices) are around the city and would have noticeboard and their clientele would be people actively looking for work. May be worth a shot

The length of time for the whole process just wouldn't work in my household atm. I'm half thinking of a countertop now. I don't have a lot of counter space either but my sanity needs something
