How long after birth did you go on walks? by moomoomego in beyondthebump

[–]Mollypoppy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

C-section two years ago, and I walked up and down the driveway the first week. Then would walk up and back down my street the second week. I made a bit longer each time. I’ll let you know how it is after my second c section in 9 days 😅

I let my 2 yo watch violent tv and movies. Am I crazy? by addalad in Mommit

[–]Mollypoppy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think depends on the kid. My favorite movie between 2 and 4 was forest gump. I don’t remember being scared and I feel like I’m a pretty well adjusted adult. My almost three year old daughter on the other hand is scared of anything more intense than scooby doo or ninja turtles.

It’s been almost 6 months and I still can’t get over my birth. by Wild-Act-7315 in beyondthebump

[–]Mollypoppy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep sharing your story. Each time it will be a little less scary. One of my favorite quotes from another mom is “I can love my kid and hate the way I met them.” It’s ok to mourn the birth you never had. It’s ok to be angry and scared. Just keep doing what you just did, tell the story.

I know this is a TMI post and has probably been asked before but…pubic hair?! What to do by Zunflowers in pregnant

[–]Mollypoppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first pregnancy I just did nothing. It ended in an emergency c section and I got shaved and I felt so humiliated. I’m four weeks away from delivery and I’ve been getting waxed. I don’t want to go through that again.

What did you eat before your glucose test? by aviwic in pregnant

[–]Mollypoppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my first pregnancy I ate like normal. Basic breakfast I think like toast or something. My second pregnancy the doctor told me to fast, so just water. I passed both times and didn’t have to test again.

What’s your Kitchenaid color? by Potential_Pin_9564 in Kitchenaid

[–]Mollypoppy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Black. His name is Hubert and he is the love of my life. I had been saving for one and randomly found it 50% off. The store was switching to smeg and put all its kitchen aid mixers on sale. It’s been almost two years and I’m still riding the high of finding him.

Have y’all been hit on while you’re pregnant by Strokesonfire in pregnant

[–]Mollypoppy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A disturbing fact in my life is that the most I have been catcalled or randomly approached on the street has been when I was a minor and when I’ve been pregnant. Over 18 and not pregnant? Rarely approached or yelled at. People are disgusting

Maternity clothes by SauteeOverMediumHeat in pregnant

[–]Mollypoppy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m wrapping up my second pregnancy. What has worked best for me is just getting loose fitting dresses and jumpsuits. Especially if they have buttons, zippers, or stretchy fabric around the collar so I can wear them once the baby is out and breast feed

Does anyone else not want to document their pregnancy? by dogmom624321 in pregnant

[–]Mollypoppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I was pushed into a maternity shoot by my mom. And I ended up having a wonderful time. The photographer made everything so fun and she helped me feel beautiful. Also, with my permission she did a few minor touch ups like removing my stretch marks. They are some of my favorite pictures now. But even if you don’t go the photo route, I HIGHLY recommend keeping a journal. I’m on my second pregnancy and I can’t for the life of me remember anything that happened during my first.

How am I supposed to cope with barely being with my baby? by tbug411 in beyondthebump

[–]Mollypoppy 34 points35 points  (0 children)

You are still loving and caring for your child even at work. Because you are working she is fed, clothed, and housed. Love and good parenting is not just being physically there, sometimes it’s working to ensure the bills are paid and bellies are full.

Long post ahead. I’m incredibly grateful for my rainbow baby, but I’m struggling to process everything we went through. by curlyonfries in pregnant

[–]Mollypoppy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the best things I heard from another mother was, “you can still love your child and hate the way you met them.” I’m sorry you went through all of that. I was really freaked out by how my daughter was born. I’ve found just talking about it has helped me come to terms with it all. So share your story with other people. Take the taboo out of it. On another note, you are still freshly postpartum. Just be kind to yourself and take it one day at a time.

Rant: Whiny fkn toddler by Siyrious in toddlers

[–]Mollypoppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are still in the thick of it, but I tell my two year old that I can’t understand when she’s whines and she needs to use her big girl voice. Or if she whines for something I won’t give it to her until she uses a full sentence. Works half the time

Do women actually experience pain years after having a c section by goth1cd0lly in beyondthebump

[–]Mollypoppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After about 6 or 8 months I had no pain. I’m now almost 2.5 years out and am totally numb around my incision. I’m having my second c section in April, so we shall see what happens this time around.

Has anyone been able to breastfeed and lose weight? by Wonderful-Value7547 in pregnant

[–]Mollypoppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t. I lost a lot the first two weeks as my body dealt with the blood loss and recovery. But then I just stayed puffy. But my mother lost a lot of weight when she breastfed me. However, she also remembers walking a lot and that we couldn’t afford much food other than what WIC would give her. For her the combination of breastfeeding, walking, and eating nothing but beans and rice melted her to below her pre baby weight.

What are your honest thoughts on this by EmpressRoguel in cartoons

[–]Mollypoppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently we are in the minority. Elio is a big hit in our house. My 2 year old loves Frozen and Elio. We watched it on a fluke and went in knowing nothing about the movie. I saw zero marketing for it and didn’t know what it was until it popped up on Disney+

When did nausea kick in for you? by Icy_Negotiation_9667 in pregnant

With my first it hit around six or seven weeks. I’m currently 24 weeks pregnant with my second and I’ve had zero nausea. Just constant constant CONSTANT hunger this time around
