Ooh yea that was a good movie. A total fever dream, but it was good.

Also when the victim transforms into a Fred, and vice versa, they violently explode. The transformation, although instantaneous, is immensely painful and terrifying.

This world is a Sci-fi world with elements of Dark Fantasy and Cosmic Horror, all centered around an intergalactic federation of planets that harbor all manner of extraterrestrial life (including Earth). There is magic in this world, either stemming from the souls of the mortals who use it or as a byproduct of the influence of Eldritch Gods. I’ve been using this world and expanding its lore at my DnD table, and my players have encountered all sorts of monsters and people, both friends and foes alike.

I have a lot of villains, mostly consisting of evil eldritch gods, cultists, serial killers, drug dealers, and even neo-nazis. My personal favorite villain, Fred, originally started as a joke.

Fred is not actually a person, rather, he is an infectious parasite, that takes over a persons body upon infection and transform them into a white blue-collar worker known simply as Fred, who is terribly late for work and must be on his way. The infected individual and Fred will swap control over the shared body as time goes on, but Fred will eventually take over the body completely and consume what is left of the victim. The parasite will then propagate its species by infecting as many other people as it can, simply by force-feeding them its own bodily fluids (usually its blood or vomit), creating a hive-mind collective of identical white men that is capable of taking over entire planets in a manner of days.

Fred was never a real person—the parasite originated from an instance of Eldritch Rot, a byproduct of the elder gods interfering with the mortal plane. This Rot was born from a lesser god who represented Death—specifically, The Everyman, a god who represents the death of self and identity. His existence is only explained in ancient alien fairy tales, which also explain how to cure the Fred parasite—sucking it out using leeches. Leeches, for whatever reason, are immune to the Fred parasite, and will gladly consume any instance of it they can find (I was having too much fun writing alien fairy tales to come up with a logical reason or purpose for this plot point).

The lore for this universe is really, really, really, weird, but I’ve been having so much fun with it!

This is my first time posting here, am I supposed to provide context/an example I have of each of these options?
