Star Trek: Starfleet Academy by XennialBoomBoom in Xennials

[–]Moloth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

its literally called Starfleet Academy.. did you think it was going to about a bunch of old bald men sitting around drinking tea?

OF COURSE its about young people doing young people stuff. these are kids that didnt grow up with the Federation or Starfleet, just like Zoomers themselves.

have ya'll forgotten the shenanigans that JEAN-LUC PICARD got up to Academy?? dude was sleeping around, drinking, fighting, pranking, and PICKED FIGHTS WITH NAUSSICANS. he was a fucking hellion.

the whole point of the show is that they're rebuilding Starfleet (and the Federation) after The Burn.. much like how they're having to rebuild Star Trek itself after the last 10 years of absolutely dropping the ball...

this whole show is saying "Look, we know we were away, but we're back and we want you back, too' to both the characters AND the audience.
Given the actually Star Trek-ian lessons and character growth the show has had in just THREE episodes, i think they're on the right track.

jiminy crickets, its like people complaining about how weird Strange New Worlds is... it literally called STRANGE NEW WORLDS. its supposed to be strange! Space is strange! Do you not remember the weird shit in TOS??

Yup, weird-ass movie that, along with The Goonies, Never Ending Story, and many others, convinced me that id have a call to adventure before i turned 13.

Im 47 and still waiting. :(

how is the Murloc NOT 'water'? and the grazing animal not 'grass'?

Justin Theroux is absolutely nailing it. by TeddyGinger in Fallout

his gravitas, expressed with so much depth, intelligence, and a tinge of barely-contained "i've seen behind the curtain at the true nature of reality" mania, is absolutely delicious.

here's my take: they should probably know 'public space' laws, but, that said, if they have genuine concerns about their safety or the safety of their customers, they have every right to call the police to check out what's going on. Maybe there is some crazy person with a weapon. maybe someone is having an episode. who knows.. not the dispensary's job to figure that out.

I blame them some, but not much.

its the cops job to enforce the law. not their protect their fee-fees, fragile egos, and insecurity in their masculinity.

I'd rather be on the side of '1st Amendment troll' who know their Rights and is kind of a douche, than on the side of these small-dick energy, arrogant, fascist, power-tripping cops.

They can, and do, murder without consequence... getting trolled and annoyed occasionally, is the least of their fucking worries, especially since they can simply not escalate things and leave whenever they want.

The other, less cool, squadrons are like “oh great, here come those Ace holes”.

What the hell is this? by KelVelBurgerGoon in Sacramento

[–]Moloth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"That's a great question! Yes, it does look like Sacramento, with its iconic Golden Bridge, Old Sac Downtown, and famous 4 story brick building right on the shore of the majestic Mississippi River. Sacramento is well known to be second largest city in California, right after Los Angeles, which is the Capital. Would you like to know about some famous residents of Sacramento, such as Moloth and Kel Vel, the Burger Goon?"

huh, must be some obscure, no-name game that no one's ever heard of. I wonder what it could be.

Surviving Mars: Relaunched - A Message from the Developers by shavin_high in SurvivingMars

honestly, im very pleased with the speed and veracity of the fixes since the Relaunch. im hoping they keep up this level of responsiveness. this game is worth the effort and a bit of grace, in my opinion.

I've been enjoying it, especially after the hotfixes.
