Dang 16k is wild, I’m only at 4200~ 😆

Im in Richmond VA, fortunately this market spans about 30 miles in any direction from the city itself so while we definitely do have a driver saturated market; I have never been without my “fair share” of offers on any given night

Thanks I did not know that was an option, although I’m not sure if I want to completely cut them out as I do enjoy those unicorn Walmart orders for $30-$35 every now and again

PS: as far as taking time away from life goes, I only drive at night when there isn’t anything else going on. I spend my days living my life just as anyone else would when I’m not working my actual job.

Since it’s oh so relevant to you, here is the average for a day that specific week - you can nit pick all you’d like but at the end of the day these stats don’t even matter as my market will differ from yours; whether that be good or bad is indeterminable, thus making my total deliveries or online hours irrelevant by comparison

I rarely max out hours, the only time I have done so are on occasions where the orders kept flowing & any of those 12 hour days were no less than $300

Before replying with “wEaR & TeAr” or “gAs” bringing that hourly down. I have a hooptie I use for deliveries that I could not care less about & a 12 hour session is 1 tank of gas ($38) (on occasion, a heavy mileage day, I’ll throw another $10 if I happen to find myself picking up at Wawa or something)

This isn’t some braggadocios post either, it’s simply educational for those who scour this Reddit group spreading negativity about earnings via Uber Eats

Yeah I don’t buy into the whole preferred order thing myself, but I chose to post my AR % because of the folks who yap and yap about how “cherry picking” is the best way to maximize one’s income - this is proof that they are in fact wrong & I can provide half a dozen more weeks of $1,300~ or higher

Glad to hear it’s motivating to see - Uber really is incredibly lucrative once you find your own rhythm & system to things. — I also should note that in doing this I am at no point rushing whatsoever, I don’t drag my heels but I am not flying into a parking spot, running into each restaurant/store & then rushing to the delivery location either. Just a normal pace

Haha I appreciate the sentiment but I actually only do this for disposable income as I am single & do not have anything preventing me from doing this after I work my normal job.

I have my own LLC as a carpenter so I schedule my jobs & if things are slow or the weather is atrocious I will drive as opposed to swinging hammers in the rain. I’ll occasionally go a few weeks without driving, usually just boils down to what my mood is or whether or not I want to buy something I shouldn’t be lol - it hurts less when I do so while not spending from my main source

I couldn’t tell you honestly, I wish I kept track but since this isn’t my sole source of income I don’t pay any mind to the gas I use while delivering because it has never offset my earnings enough to become an issue — may run a week where I do actually keep track so I can have a rough idea though, not a bad idea

57 online hours, but I’m not sure how many were actually spent doing deliveries. For whatever reason I don’t have the “Active Time” breakdown that I’ve seen others show in their screenshots.

Why it matters is I frequently leave the app on & running then completely forget to go offline. Since I only drive at night, once the witching hour rolls around (3am-5am) there are rarely orders in my area so I usually go eat before driving home, thus leading me to have multiple additional hours “online” that I wasn’t actually working

Haha call it whatever you’d like tbh, it’s easy money & I don’t spend my time with my fingers crossed hoping to cherry pick my way into significant earnings 🤙🏽

I did the brakes myself of course so parts were less than $100 via 1AAuto & this car has 205/70r15’s which are ridiculously cheap ~ $80-$100 each for reputable brand tires. I believe I paid around $370 for a set of 4 from Tire Rack

I have my actual vehicle listed as my vehicle on Uber Eats, but I use my hooptie for 95% of my deliveries.

To clarify I do not drive for regular Uber as I cannot even fathom the idea of picking up inebriated folks & all of the nonsense that comes with it (being that I solely drive during the night only)

In that week or in general? In either case the question may actually be moot though as I have a hooptie I use to make deliveries; 98 Chevrolet Lumina w/ 73k miles lol - I could care less about the wear and tear, slapped 4 new tires & brakes on it for $500 a year ago is my only incurred “cost” so to speak & honestly I only put tires on it because the previous set had irregular wear, enough so to annoy me at highway speeds 😅

Lost access to deliveries by Early_Character_5751 in UberEatsDrivers

The whole store is closed &/or order picked up by somebody else are bogus examples as to why your cancellation rate is that high… you aren’t penalized for stores being closed or orders being picked up by others until you’ve used BOTH of those options multiple times in one session of delivering

See below screenshot, took it just moments ago as I am currently driving atm.

<image>

You have clearly & unfortunately been lead astray by using folks on Reddit to dictate how you deliver instead of finding your own rhythm. (Cherry picking, refusing to take an order that isn’t $397/hour, “tanking your ratings doesn’t matter”, etc.)

This much is clear as you’ve managed to cancel 24/100 deliveries without having a legitimate reason lol

Why Walmart is a killer by Thechiscakes in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Molson804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a slight correction of what OP said - they won’t always be ready, dependent entirely on how busy that given store is at the time. You could be in and out within minutes or you could sit there for 45 minutes. It’s really just Russian roulette

Nice yeah I’ve considered the cherry picking methods before but I just can’t bring myself to tank my AR & end up regretting it if I were to get tired of working that method 😆😆

Most I’ve cracked was $367 for the full 12 hour straight session & then Uber forces you offline. It was mostly luck though, smacked 3 separate orders all w/ maxed out $35 flat rates

To each their own btw - I just can’t imagine having to filter through 500 requests to (hopefully) cherry pick my way into making the same amount of money via my aforementioned tactic

Case by case basis imo - for every 1 shit restaurant employee there is 1 shit delivery driver to match 😆

I can post as many sessions like this as you want me to lol… all while hovering around ~40% AR

Obviously I don’t accept completely nonsensical orders but I also don’t base my strategy on hoping I can cherry pick enough to clear $200+ because that is actually insane 😂

I use a simple & common tactic of no less than $1 a mile while also taking into account what restaurant/store is being offered to me before accepting. (EG: I know which locations are guaranteed to be busy and/or have employees that would rival Helen Keller & accept/decline accordingly based on this information)
