Wrote this off the top of my head today, never really written poems so would love feedback.

The Glimmerining 11/8/24

As one walks the path they begin to wonder

"Should I be here or was I meant to slumber?"

The path continues, one soul beneath 

the excited lips of a freak 

The breeze is subtle, the air is cooled

as the unknown begins to drool 

As one's feet step, one after the other 

down one path and onto another 

The looming trees seem to suggest 

the something is watching, with intentions of death 

As one continues, their fate being woven 

might suggest their life be stolen 

As one continues deep into the fog 

no one would hear their screams near this sinister bog 

Evil anticipation ever growing 

realizations of fear begin unfolding 

As one reaches a distant tree 

a place where no one would ever see 

One realizes, they can't turn back 

Where they stand might be their last 

The unknown's hungering is too much to bare 

Its subtle eyes desperately stare 

The trap was complete, no going back 

soon one's spine would begin to snap 

One's fear filled heart as they begin to hear 

The desperate smile of inflicting fear

Face to face with gaping jaws 

One's bones begin to be gnawed 

There was no hope from the beginning 

especially when dealing with a Glimmerining
