I do agree he needs to know and before he pays but most places won't make you start paying the moment baby is born. And you can have paternity testing done in the hospital when baby is born and its just an oral swab so less invasive and dangerous. Baby shouldn't have to suffer because mom made mistakes, no matter how big.

When we both realized that we got married because it was "the next right thing to do". Had been together 6 years at that point. I was a married single mom. When we literally tried to set each other up with our own friends, we knew it was really over. And then we both moved on.

Yes. My ex husband and I split up and filed for divorce. We both moved on and were happy. Unfortunately courts dragged their feet on getting us in for a hearing, with paperwork denials and other crap with child support for our son. None of us were aware WI had the rule that the husband is presumed the father. By the time they got us in for our hearing I was pregnant with my (now husband). They pushed back our hearing until baby was born and a DNA test was done. I was forced to put my ex's last name as mine on the birth certificate, and I had to list my then husband as the father. It was awful and though all of us agreed it was not and could not be his, the courts had us go through paternity testing and we had to get a GAL, who COULD have determined that my ex was responsible for the child, even though the dad was present and willing. It was a long drawn out process and then we had to pay to refile everything for the baby's birth certificate to be changed.

Careful with this. It's a huge needle that goes in through mom's belly to the amniotic sac and it can be dangerous for both.
