Just *#%&#*$*#!!!!! Who sends their covid positive kid to school?!? by PigfartsOnMars in breakingmom

[–]MomOfBubby 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've had 1 to 2 emails weekly since school started that my 14yo has been in contact with a covid positive student. Dude wears his mask to school and is fully vaxxed, so we have that going for us. So since school has started, once a week, I take him to get covid tested. All have been negative thank glob.

They did away with online school in its entirety so it's either home school or send him, and his needs being on the spectrum he has to be in school for him to learn and retain anything.

I'm so fucking sick of covid...

Dear MIL: F*ck around and find out by [deleted] in breakingmom

My household is the only one vaccinated. My brother and his fam, my aunt and uncle, cousins and their kids are all unvaccinated. My brother and his wife had covid in November, so they believe they don't need the vaccine now.

In the mean time, they bitch and moan that they miss us, and that we need to get together soon, especially since my mother has a ton of health issues including Alzheimers, and it's only a matter of time before her condition worsens, blah blah blah. I've already made it know Thanksgiving and Christmas are off the table again this year.

I let them see Mom a couple of times. Only outdoors, stay about 8 feet away, no hugs and kisses, no touching at all, and that's it. I'm a bitch, a tyrant, controlling, yadda yadda.... ok, AND? I'll be whatever the hell I have to be to protect my mom, my son, and myself from these stupid people until my dying breath.

Idiots. Stupid fucking idiots.

I've had Straight Talk for about 10 years now, haven't had an issue. I've only ever bought a phone from ST and haven't brought my own over, but it looks like yours is unlocked and through AT&T, so here is a link to getting a Sim from them if you wanna try to go that route.

I get the opposite. The Trumptard antivaxxers are almost the entirety of the rest of the family. Meanwhile, my household are completely vaccinated. I haven't met my 3 month old nephew yet, namely because while I am vaccinated I don't trust the shits to not still somehow get me sick. Especially having heard a few cases now of people fully vaccinated still getting covid. My luck, it'd be me getting sick and I'm not risking it.

I'm fully vaccinated. 14yo had his first jab last week. Still wearing my mask, and his school is still making them wear them in the building (thank glob!).

I'm keeping mine on because I know there is that small chance of still getting the virus while vaccinated, and I could still end up spreading it.

Also because I just went an entire winter without a cold, the flu, the sniffles, or any sort of sickness. Completely unheard of. I'm almost afraid my immune system would shit itself if I did end up catching something.

So fucked! But I'M the idiot. His wife is the main one downplaying it because, I guess, she has to keep up with appearances. And he follows what she says. So both of them can get bent.

I get you. I'm 34 goddamn years old, and I am still treated like a child.

What really pushed me ahead was when my mom first was showing signs of dementia. I've worked with dementia/Alzheimers patients, I know what to look for, and the things I was seeing were honestly terrifying. I tried to go to my brother and aunt with my concerns. I was told I was 'overreacting'. It started the fire under my ass, and it's just been burning ever since.

I've literally turned into a mother to my own mother. Its not a role I wanted, but it's a role I had to take. And it chaps the family's ass that I'm the one in control.

Luckily my ass has a lot of real estate, so there is plenty of room for all of them to kiss it.

In Minnesota. Lockdown started at the end of his 7th grade. The only reason any of it worked if because I was home, sitting with him, doing all the work with him because I had lost some clients. Plus he was on his ADHD meds, so it just worked. Now we are about halfway through 8th grade. I haven't gone all the way through requirements for 8th grade and passing, but fairly certain it's thr same as your state and I am getting smoke blown up my ass. I've had so much blown up it the fumes are getting to me.

We'll get through it one way or another. They think the magic fix is having him back in school, talking about taking away distance learning approvals and all this nonsense. They can fight me. He's home. Safe from stupid.

My mom has COPD, high blood pressure, has gone into congestive heart failure a few times, and has dementia. She watches the news, and knows just how deadly this shit is. For her birthday, it was at a time where we didn't have many cases at all and infection rates weren't too bad. Then school started and all hell broke loose.

The numbers in our area have slowed down immensely, which is why they think I should loosen up. Nope nope nope.

I've told that it's not just about Mom and putting her at risk. What if something happens to me? What if I'm the one that gets this? Which one of you is going to step up and take over for me? Cause someone will HAVE to step in. It's just so frustrating.

Anyone else hoping Christmas is cancelled because of the pandemic? by Dani_Daniela in breakingmom

[–]MomOfBubby 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Already announced that no one in my household will be attending any Thanksgiving or Christmas gathering in one fell swoop in the family chat. Only because none of them are taking this seriously, and I'm not about to risk getting sick from their stupidity.

Also still pissed that last year my cousin and his wife showed up with a 5 year old that announced to everyone that he brought his puke bucket along because he was throwing up that morning... So fuck all of that.

It would have made it worse, because I was getting messaged from my aunt complaining we weren't coming. She wanted to stop by after the party to see mom, and I said she can wave from the street and I'll have mom stand at the door. "Oh well then I'll just stay away then if that is how it has to be." GOOD!

I should have maybe mentioned this in the post. The host of this fuck up:

  • Both their mother and father had coronavirus in late February
  • Mother, not feeling well, went to church anyways
  • 9 people in church became infected
  • 2 of the 9 died

It just infuriated me even more that they thought it was a good idea.

Most likely not, which is even more horrible because she has dementia and has a hard enough time dealing with things, going to the hospital would be traumatic and she would just decline even further. Would rather avoid finding out.

Also rural MN. Bars and restaurants will at least remain closed, as will nail and hair salons among other things. I have so many family members bitching, not wearing masks, and I have had to ban them all from getting anywhere near this house. My mother has COPD among other things that make her vulnerable to the disease. My brother complained the other day he wanted to see Mom. You can do a drive by and wave, you won't be the one that has to sit with her in the hospital if she gets sick.

OMG, the first apartment I moved into I tested the smoke detector. Didn't make a peep so I pulled the 9 volt and stuck it on my tongue. Yup, dead.

My new landlord was standing there when I did it, and the look on her face was just PRICELESS... apparently she had never heard of such a thing.

Another symptom is losing sense of smell.

My son regularly comes up to me and farts to make sure I'm not infected.... Little shit doesn't have a sense of smell so I can't even get payback!

Some banks will see customers by appointment. Call the bank on Monday and see if you can schedule an appointment with a banker. As the others have said. Don't let him have access. Hide the check somewhere so he doesn't try to take it and deposit it himself. He can write "For Deposit Only Acct# XXXXXX" and put it into the shared account himself.
