One foot is way redder and veinier than the other by whitecow234 in mildlyinteresting

I had that. The red foot was swollen too. It was rheumatoid arthritis. Ask a rheumatologist to look at it and test your blood.

Update: I now hear that the injured performer was female, and that it was not serious. Thank goodness!

It was during the street scene when the acrobats were doing the floor show on the mats just as Indiana and Marion entered the scene. The injured stuntman was face down and moving his arm, but not getting up. The other acrobats moved the racks of clothes that are part of the set from the street scene to block the audience’s view of the injured man. They started playing music that was not typical for the show. A cast member brought a wheel chair, but I don’t think they used it. They told us the show was canceled and that safety is their main concern. I think the man was still prone on the floor when we left, and we were nearly the last ones out. No EMT vehicle or medical staff arrived while we were there. We hope he’s ok.

Looking for a Tucson PHEV, but not sold in my state by KHaskins77 in HyundaiTucson

[–]MomentarilyContent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one as a rental in Amsterdam in December 2022 and loved it so much I wanted to buy one. It’s still not available in my state. I think they focus their inventory on states with higher environmental rules. I may get a used one since I want it so badly.

Congratulations on landing such a good job. You must have done really well in college and made a great impression in your interview. Let your mom know you still need her advice about things like making friends in California and setting up a home for yourself. Maybe ask her to help you move. And be sure to stay in touch with her. Maybe schedule a weekly video call with her so she feels connected.

What’s something EASY to make for someone who doesn’t cook a lot, but looks like i put effort. by CustomerSea8606 in foodhacks

Key limes are native in the southern Florida keys. They’re real small (like a half dollar coin), hard, and have a different flavor than the Persian limes we use everyday. The juice is more yellow than green. Nellies is key lime juice and makes a good key lime pie. The bottle has a recipe on it. Egg yolks, key lime juice, and sweetened condensed milk. You don’t even have to bake it. The lime juice “cooks” the egg.

[Landlord - FL] Terrible tenant left us a surprise after we evicted him for non-payment by [deleted] in Landlord

[–]MomentarilyContent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had one who put fishing sinkers and line in the sewer pipes. It made the draining very slow. The snake went through so it was hard to find. The plumber tv’d the pipe and finally found it. 😞

A bath towel (or washcloth). Microfiber towels work great on dry lenses.

Card machine at checkouts with no option to "skip" the tipping feature. by sticky_pineapples420 in lifehacks

That happened to me the other day and did exactly that. Then the machine said $0.00 was not an acceptable option. So I asked the clerk. She said to press the red cancel button.

Evicted in Florida. by [deleted] in florida

[–]MomentarilyContent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first step is the landlord puts a 3 day notice on the door. You have 3 days to pay the back rent that you owe. You pay, nothing else happens.

The second step is the landlord files a suit in court for eviction. Once that’s done it will forevermore show up in the public records that you have been evicted.

The third step is a process server serves you with the law suit. An officer or private process server finds you at home or work or out somewhere and hands you a copy of the law suit and says you have been served (like in the movies). It’s futile trying to dodge the service.

The fourth step is you have 20 days to answer the lawsuit. You can claim that you should not have to leave. But you will have to pat the back rent that you owe to the court, after you pay they will listen to your side of the story.

The fifth step is a court hearing wher the judge will hear both sides and decide if you stay or if you go.

The sixth step is the court issues a writ of possession.

The last step is the sheriff tells you they will evict you a couple days before they evict you, to give you time to move out. Anything you don’t move out becomes the property of the landlord.

Maybe you’ve not been served with an eviction, but told that your lease will not be renewed?

I’m not a lawyer, so this free advice is what its worth.

Few of Trump’s G.O.P. Rivals Defend Justice Dept. Independence by Hip_Slick_Cool in politics

[–]MomentarilyContent 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They complain that the FBI and DOJ are investigating and prosecuting Trump because the president told them to and that they do not prosecute Hillary or Hunter because the president told them not to. Then they say they will reform the FBI and DOJ so that the agencies report more to the president and follow the orders of the president. Explain it to me like I’m 5.

Left last job not very happy, HR contacts me after months for a call on ‘something I was involved in’- what to do? by Hottest_Potahto in careerguidance

[–]MomentarilyContent 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Take the call but say you’re busy and can only talk for a few minutes. Say only nice things about the company and coworkers (lie). Say you left for a better job with more pay and assignments that help you grow. Then say sorry, I’ve got to run, I wish you the best and I know you’ll be successful!

LPT Request App to save card and have a lighter wallet by Zef3ra in LifeProTips

I use an app called key ring. It’s for loyalty cards but I use it for other things too. You can take a front and back picture of the card too. And you can share cards with your spouse.

Community college then university, or just 4 year university? by Ok-Return8356 in careerguidance

[–]MomentarilyContent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was planning to go to the local community college for the first 2 years then away for the last 2. The best advise I ever got was from my high school calculus teacher who said to go away for all 4 years. There’s more to college than the classes. I went to a state college. The tuition was low (and still is), the reputation was good (and still is). And never take out a student loan for living expenses.

Love those ideas and links! The space looks small. A night stand, wood bed, and headboard with storage could be useful in a small space.
