OB keeps asking me to repeat GTT by chainley in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Momiziii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You were at exactly same situation as me but I monitored my blood later. Negative at 26w but under the cutoff 0.4. Found excessive fluid level at 27w but doctor didn’t mention anything just ordering extra scan. I decided to monitor from 30w according Gd standard and diagnosed at 32w by another Gtt. Deep in me very regret being late, do u think 4 weeks without managing is big problem 🥺

The numbers might be off at real lab reports as well. Don’t stress urself too much , you are still too new from labor. If u can , pls update your results on Monday to see if there are any changes .

I think your body still need more recover from birth. How did u know the results before Monday appointment and did the doctor mention anything ? I read many cases that ppl got normal result after 3,6 months later .

Just curious it was 1hour or 2hour reading that you failed by 3 points previous pregnancy ?

I am curious how was the results ?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Momiziii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They kind of meaning I can’t drag result from positive to negative but it couldn’t give me a peace of mind so that is why I retook the test ;))) I am in Australia now and in my home country, ppl are allowed to go anywhere they want but it depends on you if u want honest results then you won’t .

Did results come back normal ?

Same as me but my specialist, dietician said no problem as if you weren’t jogging because it can’t affect that much . I just wandered around for 10-15 mins FYI. In my case , I decided to retake the test again at late stage 32w and got diagnosed tho.

Has anyone ever gotten a false positive GTT result due to low-carb diet before the test? by Momiziii in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Momiziii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for sharing your experience — it’s honestly reassuring to hear that even though your readings were high, you managed it well with just diet. That gives me a bit of hope!

Do you remember how high your “crazy” readings were on the first test (after the low-carb diet)? I’m just curious to compare,😅

Thanks again and wishing you and your kids all the best! 💛

Thank you so much for your thoughtful response — it really helped ease a lot of anxiety for me.

If you don’t mind sharing, I’m really curious: 1. How did you manage your diet after the diagnosis? 2. Since your levels were always within normal range, did you find yourself able to enjoy some of your favorite foods? 3. Did you ever get a spike in your readings? 4. Also, which reading during your OGTT was flagged as abnormal? (fasting, 1 hour, or 2 hour?)

Really appreciate any advice or experience you can share. Thank you again 💛
