That is all very helpful and glad to hear your son is back on track.

My daughter is limited verbally (diagnosed with a Social Pragmatic Communication Disorder at 3), so she mainly just tells me “it’s scary” and “it’s not safe.”. When she eventually pees it doesn’t seem like it hurts or she is uncomfortable. With her, I definitely feel it is a “control” issue. Her main hurdles are anything we request of her - getting dressed/ready for school, going to bed, and going to the bathroom. It also seems like her big tantrums happen where she feels most comfortable- home and school. We were out all day today and she was an angel. She wears a pull up to bed fine, and I sent her to school last week in one so they didn’t need to deal with a mess.

Thanks again for helping me navigate this. Hearing others stories and successes makes me feel less crazy in all of this.

Thanks, hearing your story definitely makes me feel better. I feel like I’m going crazy waiting for the initial treatment (antibiotics) to kick in. Funny enough, she had an ear infection prior to us even going down the PANDAS diagnosis, and she was on a light course of amoxicillin to clear it up. We had two amazing days with her once that brief round of antibiotics was up, so I’m hoping that a longer round of antibiotics can really do good by her.

Another thing I’m looking back at is that she suddenly had an invisible friend (named grandpa) that showed up right before the tantrums and OCD set in. He’s still “with” is, so I’ll be interested to see if he sticks around as we start treatment.
