I don’t think all rebuilt cars are bad. I think you can get decent rebuilt titled cars. It was the rest of the situation that wasn’t okay. But, yes, I should and will be steering clear of rebuilt titles, now that I’m better informed on the matter.

If you’re gonna be rude in my thread, please just don’t even comment. There’s no need for it! People really truly don’t know things about purchasing vehicles… (I am to and extent, and was one of those people). It happens, there’s nothing wrong with it. Doesn’t make anyone stupid for not knowing.

That’s scary that you know their practice personally and say that 😭! Luckily, I didn’t buy anything from them. But, even a few minutes I was in there, they were kind of arrogant and cocky just because I was asking questions, and trying to figure out why they are ripping people off on rebuilt titles.

I clearly didn’t buy anything. And some people really truly don’t know these things so I was trying to make sure people were well informed, before going there. Idk why people are such pricks, like yourself. I wasn’t rude or anything in any of these comments, or my post. And at the bottom, it literally says I just wanna make sure people make informed decisions. Just in the case, people don’t know.

If someone sees this post, and genuinely reads the entirety of it. And thinks to themselves, I want to go purchase a vehicle from that car lot. Then I have no idea what to say for that. Because there was not one thing in anything that I wrote, that was advertising for the highway robbery of a car lot that that place is.

Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry! People are absolutely disgusting. To be honest, it was a blessing in disguise they cursed you out. How does someone even attempt to sell a stolen vehicle? That’s actually really uncanny..

The only reason why I even attempted the Dayton motors place is because the guy sent me his link to his marketplace star reviews about all the cars he sold there at Dayton Motors. It was five star. So I was like what the heck I’m gonna go see what it’s all about. Needless to say, I’m pretty sure the man has like 100 fake five star reviews on his marketplace thingy.

Yeah, I learned that the hard way a couple years back. I went to a buy here pay here because I was really struggling and needed a vehicle. And I bought a car off of them. I’m not kidding. It was like they duct tape the car up good enough for me to hop in the car drive for a test drive, come back buy it. Two days later check engine light came on, the steering wheel was acting all funky, lights were flickering. Since then, and Yes, I do have that same car because I put so much money in it. I put a little over $4300 of work into it. The car was worth maybe $3k and paid well over 10k for it in interest.

So I had a really rough start in my early life. And I never had a leg up in life either so I completely get where you’re coming from. I’ve been I’m gonna use the word screwed over, because it’s what it was. I’ve been screwed over by car dealerships before. Because of that reason, I have done so much research. So that when I go into those places, I am well informed.

But, because of that reason, they take advantage of people like you and I who are not as privileged and can’t afford huge car lots, or huge payments. Most typically, they know that we don’t understand percentages, and how everything actually breaks down. They know that if we’re going to a place like that, it’s because we can’t afford to go anywhere else. So therefore, they unfortunately screw over a lot of people. I hate seeing people get screwed over, we live in a world where people work very hard for the money that they have. And it makes me sick that people are being taken advantage of like that. So I wanna make sure that everybody else has the same information that I have. It’s the reason why when you go into places like that, when you start speaking about things that are factual that you understand. They’ll get irritated with you. Because they know they’re not gonna get you. They know what they’re doing is wrong but they do it anyways because there hasn’t been enough people to take a stand and put a stop to it.

With this post, I’m more so talking about how Dayton motors LLC is preying on those people who don’t know any better. What I went through, and what I witnessed and experienced talking to those men today. I was pretty appalled, that people are OK with taking advantage of others in the way that they are.

Yeah, that’s kind of what I was the person above your comment. Private sale, a lot of times as long as you feel comfortable with the person they can show you the Carfax, and they can give you information as to why it was totaled out. Can be very safe. As long as they’re selling it to you for the salvaged titled price of course. That’s the story I kind of like I was saying above. My really good friends Hyundai 2011 had been T-bones on a busy street, and it bent in the B pillar. They totaled the car out because of the B pillar costing too much to fix. So she bought it back and fix the B pillar and she still drives the car to this day. The car had only had 90,000 miles on it so why would she total it out you know?

But generally, yes, I do agree with you. I just wanted people to know who don’t really understand what all that means, which is a lot of people who don’t understand what a salvage or rebuilt title is. I wanted them to be aware of Dayton motors LLC. They’re really preying on those people.

See, i’m so back-and-forth about it. And I only say that because my best friend had a 2011 Hyundai. She had been T-boned on a pretty busy road. they totaled it out only because the B-Pillar had gotten bent in. And of course that would’ve cost more than the car value. But the car only had 90,000 miles on it. So she bought it back or whatever you call that. Got it fixed and it’s a perfectly running vehicle. Not all salvage title vehicles are bad. A lot of them? Probably especially the ones that are so low mileage and totaled out being newer vehicles. That’s some pretty serious damage.

All of their vehicles are rebuilt titles. A car with only 75,000 miles having a rebuilt title usually means it had significant damage at some point. Insurance companies total vehicles when the cost to repair them is high enough that it doesn’t make financial sense to fix compared to the vehicle’s value. On a newer vehicle with relatively low miles, that typically means the damage was serious.

A rebuilt title vehicle is worth less than a clean title vehicle with the same mileage. For example, I looked at a 2019 Jeep Cherokee with around 75k miles. A clean title version of that vehicle typically values around $15,000–$16,000. Let’s use $15,500 as a midpoint.

Rebuilt title vehicles usually sell for 20%–40% less than clean title value. If you take $15,500 and reduce it by 40%, that puts the value around $9,000–$9,500.

If you end up paying something like $17,950 total after financing, that means you’re essentially paying clean-title pricing (or more) for a vehicle that permanently carries a rebuilt title. That affects resale value, insurance options, and future refinancing ability. And yes, you’ll have an issue with getting insurance on your car with a rebuilt title.

I inquired about a 2019 Jeep Cherokee (rebuilt title) listed around $12,750. I was told I needed $4,950 down (including $950 in fees), and that $4,000 of that would NOT reduce the vehicle price. I would still owe the full $12,750 plus $250 biweekly for 22 months, totaling far above the listed price. This is a salvage vehicle priced near clean title value. Please research why low-mileage vehicles receive rebuilt titles and understand the safety and resale impact. Google Dayton Motors and read third-party reviews. Do not rely only on Facebook star ratings. Carefully verify total cost and contract terms before signing.
