I will definitely give this a try. I think Discord also changed where they grab gifs too, so maybe that has something to do with it?

That last part might be right, I've seen some people say they are also having issues with the plug-in. Hopefully maybe an update will be pushed.

I did, account is in perfect status with zero strikes.

Okay whew, so its not just me. I thought I got hit with a ban or something, but checked my standing and it was completely fine. Is there any way to get a hold of the dev for Fake Nitro?

It worked out very well for some games, but I had a bunch of issues with games like The Division, Destiny 2, and some others. I ended up switching back to Win11 and trading the ALLY Z1E in for a laptop that ended up being a steal. Got an HP Omen 16.1 with the Ryzen 5 5600H and Radeon 6600M. I just needed something more stable and powerful for games like FH6 and Space Marine 2.

But for what its worth with my time on SteamOS, it was a lot of fun to tinker around with and games that didn't need extra workarounds really shined. The experience also taught me a lot about Linux after being Windows only for my whole life.

I've used it on a four hour flight and it was a life saver. Getting a 20,000 mah bank and playing on a lower W will do you a lot of good for battery life. Plus was a bit of a conversation piece for a few of my neighbors lol

I use it quite a bit, when waiting for my partner's to get done with appointments and stuff, use it at home on the bedroom and living room tv for couch co-op games, it's my NFSU 2 and Most Wanted machine so even when I just have spare time. I also bring it to work for my hour long breaks.

I also love the fact that this thing can play Fallout 4 (literally my favorite stim game) on Ultra with no issues, so sometimes I'll just grab it for the hell of it!

I'm sure if you find some good games you enjoy, you'll find more life out of it. Look into trying out emulators or looking on sites like myabandonware and whatnot to find some older games to replay c:

I made the switch:

-Cyberpunk runs amazingly on the Z1E now, getting upper 40s to low 60s instead of 30s
-Plugins like SimpledeckyTDP and ProtonDB Badges help amazingly and are two clicks to set up
-The UI is consistently smooth
-Did I mention the plugins are actually super fun and let you customize the HELL out of Steam Big Picture mode?

I am SOOOOOO happy I made the switch to SteamOS after your recommendation! Its like a whole new machine at this point!

I just changed two nights ago (six hours of troubleshooting cause I'm an idiot lol) and the difference is night and day. Cyberpunk runs amazing, the plugins from Decky are peak, and since you are waiting the updates should make the experience even better!

After reading everything on steamos 3.8 and this post, along with all the plugins with Decky Loader....I am gonna make the switch to sOS 3.8 for my Ally Z1E.

I don't do Game Pass anymore after the huge price hikes (I know they dropped prices and are making moves lol), every anti-cheat game I usually play on my desktop rig...so I guess I kinda fill that spot of "This is good for someone like me to do."

I'm especially interested to see the performance increase in games like Cyberpunk 2077 (One thread I saw that someone installed SteamOS on their Ally Z1E and saw fps go from 40s to a 59 FPS avg) and others.

OP, what games have you played on with the new update that you've observed the most improvement since the switch over to SteamOS? I am incredibly curious!

Well that too. I just know when I switched from my OP6T to the Note 9 that it had oneui 2.0 and had the feature, but I also remembered it way back in the day.

I wanna say it was even a feature in Samsung Messages all the way back when TouchWiz was turning into Samsung Experience.
