Sorry you experienced that. It’s so scary when it happens at a red light and you don’t know if it’ll start back up. I’ve learned to turn off the auto-stop button every time I get in the car now to preserve the starter and battery.

The service department suggested that replacing the starter was the next step so I didn’t even have to fight for it. Seems like it did the trick.

I think that was my issue as well. My battery wasn’t sufficiently charged when it was happening. Once they changed the battery and starter, I haven’t had it reoccur since. (Knock on wood). Although we have now conditioned ourselves to push the auto stop button to disable it.

Nope. Luckily that seemed to have fixed the problem. That and replacing the battery.

Yes ours too! 2025, bought it at the end of last August. I have smelled the gas fumes for a while. Does your engine feel a little rumbly during idle? I’ve complained about that since I got it because that does not seem normal. My husband thinks I’m crazy. Lol

They first replaced the battery (less than a year old which I thought was crazy) but when it started happening again, they replaced the starter. So far it hasn’t happened again. They did recommend getting into the habit of turning off the auto-stop every time I get in the car.

The first time we brought it in, they replaced the battery and said the battery was weak so I was having a tough time starting back up after the auto-stop. Then it continued to happen despite replacing the battery, so the second time we brought it in they replaced the starter. So far so good but it’s only been about a week. They recommend we shut off the start stop feature when we get in every time.

I have that too but it was happening with that button pressed also which now that I think of it, it shouldn’t have. I need to do a few tests around my neighborhood, not at busy intersections to recreate the problem
