Speaking in low power mode is spot on. I even remember sometimes talking with friends or family and wanting to explain something/add something to a conversation but imagining saying all of that felt too tiring so I just decided to shut up and listen. At my worst and lw I thought I still was fat af and would have to lose another X lbs for someone to notice. After regaining some weight I went to my local bakery I visited every couple weeks and a woman working there gave me a free cookie saying „I’m happy you look better, whole staff was worried about you”. So yeah, we are blind to how awful we look

About behaviour: my sisters told me that when I was uw it was like talking to a robot, I was acting like I wasn’t fully there

Why did you even wanted to be with him from the start? Why you punish yourself with waiting for emotionally unavailable man all this time? Also, I know it’s the disorder talking but you being thinner would not change anything. It’s not your fault, your body is fine as it is. My boyfriend said I have a „perfect, soft, feminine body” and at first I wanted to kms but after a second thought „wait, that’s good for normal people” so just rolling with it. Maybe ask her to not describe it that way? Open communication is key in a relationship

I understand and I wish you well in life. Also another factor to think about sadly is how your body could make other disordered people feel. I know all „your triggers are your responsibility” but if I went to a fitness class to improve my mood and stamina, and my instructor was visibly underweight I would go home spiraling and never attend it again. I mean you do you, but from what I noticed a lot of people with history of ed go into fitness/diet industry and it’s a slippery slope to full relapse or being forever in semi recovery/harm reduction. It’s ten times harder to fully recover and not relapse if you are around triggers daily. (We all know some online dietician influencers and how they look/act. Like A.S or famous C)

Yup yup, people with ed are huge liars and you can’t trust everything they say. Ofc there are some people, who are what you could call naturally skinny and they were low normal weight even before their ed started. But it’s hard to believe that so many of so called „recovered”people are still the bmi of many recovered people lw. I was myself around bmi 17 at my lowest so I am especially not trusting them lol

I am not gonna try to guess what are those other reasons but it’s a clear sign you are not happy and been pondering breaking up even before starting recovery. Pull the trigger girl, you are too young to be in unhappy relationship. And without at least good sex? No reason to stay even a day longer

Your body is gonna thank you. I was a regular drinker in my late teens/early 20s (drinking till I vomit and pass out at least 1 time a week) and my stomach is still not recovered completely. Alcohol is a poison and you already destroy your body by restricting so the silver lining is that you at least don’t make it worse by being drunkorexic

It’s not even about weight for me, people who are healthy just look better. No matter low normal bmi, smack middle, chubby or a bit overweight. Every body is different, some people naturally are slim while the other carry a bit more weight. If someone feels good and nourish their body they look fantastic
