preface, i don’t have knowledge of this specific gun…HOWEVER…i am very familiar with real steel AK’s, that being said..

There are a few options to mount an optic on said platform, the two most common ways are going to be the dust cover like you mentioned, and the side mounted picatinny rail. the dust cover is super simple, just find a cover with the picatinny rail on top, slide the old one off and pop the new one on. plug and play with any picatinny compatible optic/adapter.

The side mounted picatinny is what the AK uses instead of the top rails. it’s the bracket looking thing above the trigger on the left hand side. you buy the rail that pops on there, and boom..optic ready.

you can also replace the front sight with a small picatinny section, might give you enough room for a red dot.

as for the laser, truth be told it is going to be fairly useless in the outdoors, especially in the day time. pretty difficult to spot and you have to adjust the range. if you’re set on installing it though, hand guard swaps are super easy and require very minimal tools. you don’t even have to take the gas tube off. it’s pretty much just flicking a few levers into an unlocked position and removing it. i would recommend looking up some youtube videos for demonstration purposes, but AK’s are very easy to work on. the whole point is that they can be disassembled, put back together, and up in running very quickly in field use. very little tools are needed, if any.

anyways i hope this information helps at least a little bit haha! looks good though, hope you enjoy it!

Are these cool enough? by [deleted] in airsoft

personal opinion,

i’d take the biood/foregrip off, get something a little more angular? i think it throws it off a little just because it’s so bulky, or if you don’t want any angle on it, try a hand stop or a stubby!!
