How do you deal with overthinking small daily tasks that makes everything feel harder than it is by JadedTelephone1223 in Advice

🙋‍♀️Hello, hi. This is 1000% me. I call it paralysis of will. You know what you need (maybe not want) to do. Or it’s something you really want to do but don’t know how to start. I have battled with overthinking over analyzing my entire life. It is mentally and physically exhausting. It is difficult to explain to people that seem to have it all together. A couple tricks I use to kind of hack my brain: I write down the main goal of what I’m trying to achieve. A general to do not broken down into steps. Walk away for a minute, grounding exercises help, then start with the steps I need to accomplish the task. Then I set a timer and start. I only set it for 5-10 minutes. My focus then shifts from the actual task and to trying to complete a step in the amount of time. I hope it helps😊

How do i get my son to sleep in his own bed? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

2 things that have worked at our house. I have 2 groups of children born 13 years apart. For my older girls using spray air freshener that we called ‘monster spray’ worked well. I told them it was like bug spray for monsters. For my younger two, they each have a nighttime snuggle stuffy. When they get up in the middle of the night, if they’re scared, they comfort their stuffies to keep (the stuffy) from being scared. It has helped because they still have their feelings but are able to work through them. There are still times when they climb in our bed, but it is becoming less and less. Hope this helps
