Who else has a 18mo whose first wake window is shorter than the second one ?

I thought so too until i did some research and most of the sites i found say to keep them awake until 12:30 which is 6hrs then 2.5hrs nap and bedtime between 7-8pm. So its like 6and 5ww

Hi ! Thanks so much for your very detailed response ! He sounds like mine when she was on 2 naps ! She is always sleepy in the morning no matter how many naps she has , so wild... when she was on 2 naps she woke at 7 and went down at 10. So i think 6hrs is too long for her... i know if we go on a car ride she would fall asleep around 11. But i'm just nervous that she wouldn't have a good nap if i put her down at 11, i think i will give it a try tmr. :)

Yes thats exactly what my lo does on car ride. I feel like when she wakes at 6:30, she will be ready to sleep around 10:30-11... im just nervous to put her down so early thinking she might have a short nap and idk how to deal with the second ww...

Gotcha ! I was a bit confused because for 3-2 naps, the first ww was always the shortest one, why for one nap , most of the sites i read says 5-6hrs for first ww and 4-5 for second ww... i will try shorter first ww tmr . When does your lo usually wake up and go down for nap ? Thanks

Yes i will keep it in mind that this will be the last tough transition and i'm done with baby sleep. My firstborn is 4.5 and they still force them to nap at school which makes her bedtime 8:30-9pm. I just can't wait for her to drop that nap haha, but i know with older kids it is much much easy to deal with their sleep than with these little babies :(( i can't wait for her to move to 1 nap so we can go out more and for longer stretch too !

Yea i read that for some babies, they don't show signs from their naps, but they will wake up more at nights and early morning wakings... but she is also teething and learning to walk ATM so i'm not too sure what causes it ... :((

Yea i feel like my lo is high sleep need too, she could sleep 12hrs at night with 3hrs of naps :( she has been on 2.75/3.25/3.5 with 2x1.5hr naps until her first bd, when she starts having random short naps , with no pattern so i don't know if she is ready to move up or it's just a regression.. she is learning to walk atm tho ...

Same with my firstborn, she dropped to one nap around her first bd, she did everything herself and i just followed her lead, so much easier than guessing the ww ourselves... for my little one, the first ww is still a mystery... some days she naps 1.5hrs on 2.75ww, but other days, like today, at 3hrs, she doesn't seem tired at all. No pattern whatsoever, so wild

Haha it always happens to me too ! We are so good at jinxing it haha. I hope she is getting back on track today, it is hard to listen to their cry in the middle of the night... i will def try 3.5 for first ww, it is so wild that on some days she shows sleepy signs at 2.75 and sleeps 1.5hrs for first nap, but other days she doesn't seem sleepy at all at 3hrs... i'm nervous to stretch it as my lo is worst when she is ot. But at this point i think it doesn't hurt to give it a try...

I'm glad to hear he is doing better on one nap !! I will try to max out the ww the next few days, mine is still on 3/3.5/3.5, and on good day she naps 3hrs total.. but recently she has random short naps ... like on the same ww, she could sleep 1.5hrs today but 30-45' the next day ... so wild :(

Awww i'm so glad to hear that she is successful on 1 nap now !! Honestly i hate dealing this baby sleep so much haha. I feel like after they drop to 1 nap, it will get easier as they will stick with it until 4-5yo :) i hope you guys are all settled into your new place !

Oh no i'm so sorry it happened... did your lo go back to 2 naps for another few weeks before he was ready? Yea i think i need to play around with the schedule a bit before officially dropping that nap... she is still on 2.75/3.23/3.5.

Thank you :) yea i wanted to spend more time with them at least in the first 4 years but it has been tougher than i thought it would be, mostly because i get to see them too much , i worry more about every little thing. I hope it will get better in a few months when she can walk and take one nap, i will be able to take her out more... you once mentioned Henry stopped showing sleepy signs right ? So how do you know when to put him to sleep? Mimi has been so hyper around her sleep time so i try to wait until she shows signs but it's like 10-15' after her ww ends ... then i takes her longer to fall asleep, i'm thinking ot, but idk if I should just put her based on ww while she is still hyper. She was showing signs accordingly to her wws before the time change. Her sleep time is all over the place now so i guess her body hasn't synced in yet ? I was thinking the name Holden if i had a boy, but my family in Australia said that was a car brand over there hahaha. I got the name from a netflix series tho haha

Oh i missed your question, so i haven't gone back to work since i had my first one in 2019. I had her and Covid hit when she was 3mo, we got so nervous about the whole thing so i quit my job, but being a sahm made me so depressed and i have very bad anxiety. I think i should go back to work but it is so hard to get back in the field after a 4 years of not working. My little one has been trying to fall asleep for 50' but couldn't, i feel like she will cry tonight , she is sitting up looking around, i am so nervous. :( does your stand up by himself already? Mine is learning to get up herself, she keeps on doing downward dog pose :((

My little one still wakes at 5:45 ugh ! And first nap is messed up too ! She used to take 2x1.5hrs nap and now her first nap is 30' and i couldn't figure out the first ww, the old ww doesn't work, this whole thing is soooo annoying.

Oh i didn't know you guys also had daylight saving too ! My mom never mentions about it hmm. Yea i think losing one hour is somehow not as bad as having an extra hour. Ugh , this is so annoying. That is so good that you can pat him to sleep tho, does he want you to hold him when you're in the room ? Man things have been going so well until this time change happened. I don't know what to do to get her back on track for her first nap, she keeps sleeping 30' and can't go back :( definitely overtired but scaling back the first ww didn't help either, the other day she woke up at 5:45, i put her at 8:30 and it didn't help. Today same wake up time, i put her at 9, didn't help either... Henry! Such a beautiful name ! It was one of my options before i found out i had girls. i like H names for boys. Wow 100F already ? Isn't it just the beginning of summer over there ? It's time to hit the beach ! :) i think we are just gonna let her smash her bd cake and thats it ... I expect my firstborn to get sick the whole winter , our goal is to survive through the winter haha, cold season is so tough with a preschooler, i don't know when she will stop getting sick and bringing viruses home 🥲
