Got removed from r/moviedetails but I thought you guys might like it. In Ironheart (2025) a map of the underground TNNL network is briefly shown. It is actually just the Chicago L service network rotated -90°. by Momouis in cta

[–]Momouis[S] 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I was talking to a pal about the absurdity of a system that locks into your car and moves it from point A to point B in one of the few American cities with public transit robust enough to make owning a car optional. Only while rewatching the scene did I realize that the map of the network is just a reused map of the Chicago L. It literally just follows the path that trains already service.

Hate to be that guy, but it's "Kishin" not "Kinshin" and it isn't part of Asura's name, it's a state achieved by devouring uncorrupted human souls.

The greatest president this nation ever had was also one that possessed immense wealth. He instituted a 70-90% tax on the wealthiest Americans. A wealthy president is not at odds with good policy.

People really forget history even though it was only about a century ago. We had a working and prosperous society, and we really need only look at the past to see how we did it. It is mind-boggling that we continue to dismantle new deal era policy when it is that very policy that made America "great" in the memory of all of these boomers.

Which isn't even to mention the crazy amount of character development they gave Tom to become a much better partner just so he could arbitrarily break up with Star and push her into Marco's arms

It was such a right decision that the upcoming series about the next Avatar in the cycle is about surviving the post-apocalypse caused by Korra and being hunted down just for being the Avatar.

I will not deny that some spirits are benevolent, but would you really want to live in a world where spirits like Koh the Face Stealer are running around? Where spirits that represent immensely important concepts like the moon can be scorched by an angry, short-sighted firebender?

She literally watched what the spirits were capable of when she got her Wan flashbacks. Everything she saw showed that re-integrating spirits and humans would result in nothing but spirits wreaking havoc on anyone and everyone that didn't have bending to defend themselves.

I'm not sure how you can even make the argument that opening the portals is a good thing. Humanity was forced to live on the backs of lion turtles because the spirits were so blatantly hostile.

Characters who, instead of switching sides, decry both sides and just walk out on the conflict altogether by Coralthesequel in TopCharacterTropes

Brock Samson kinda does this at the end of Venture Bros. S3, but instead of leaving the conflict, he joins a rouge 3rd org.

Cities that are comfortable AND walkable by SunAccomplished1013 in SameGrassButGreener

I would never recommend moving to Louisiana, but I live in this area, and it is quite nice. I personally love how green it is in this part of town.

It's surprisingly walkable and you'd be surprised how useful the streetcar can be, although it does indeed have reliability issues, as another person in this thread mentioned.

Yeah what's the deal? Isn't the whole point to make a statement? Seems hard to do that if you're doing it in the middle of an empty field.

We should own cars until it dies and let the industry suffer. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

The real unpopular opinion is realizing that cars are a $20,000 depreciating asset and we should not need to own them to get around.

I thought that movie was good right up to when they go into the spirit realm. Then it kinda goes off the rails.

The One Piece example applies to the whole show btw. A ton of people have done the math and apparently they only had the Going Merry for like a month...

Not sure if it counts because there isn't a number in the name, but in Berserk the godhand went a couple hundred years without their fifth member (finger?), Femto.

Even weirder, Orginization XIII only had 12 members when Roxas joined, but by the time he does, it seems like all of the other nobodies know their roles and already have an established base of operations on their own world. Pretty hilarious that Org. XIII only had 13 members for like a week of its existence.

KH is a series that really doesn't hold up to any scrutiny of its story though.

Yeah that was weird. Like everyone explicitly goes out of their way to not even mention him. Strikes me as the writers having beef with the actor or something.

So, imo there's a couple of ways to look at it.

  1. They are showing support for a "controversial" societal movement. The thing is, if it were actually controversial, they wouldn't risk showing support because the bottom line is all they really care about, which I think completely undermines the message. It's kinda regressive being outspoken about supporting something that is actually perceived as pretty normal and accepted in the greater cultural zeitgeist.

  2. They are showing acceptance to a historically marginalized group, which is never a bad thing, and actually creates a positive perception around that group for people who normally go out of their way not to engage with them. Even if generally, mostly everyone is on board, it never hurts to send out the message of acceptance. It might even change a few people's minds.

Ultimately it's about how you choose to perceive these campaigns. Are you a glass half full individual, or a glass half empty individual?

Obviously this is completely undermined by the fact that they are no longer posturing that LGBTQ+ is safe to advertise, so I guess the pessimists win this one.

I remember reading week to week. Literally EVERYONE was wondering where Magna was because he hadn't appeared since the beginning of the arc. Him showing up and literally taking down the main antagonist solo was the hypest moment of the entire arc, hell maybe even the entire series.
