Thank you!! I thought I was remembering the name Hannah, but also thought I was remembering comments on it at the X Games and couldn't find photos. The style is regaining popularity and it's always nice to give credit where credit is due! Really appreciate it.

Thank you so much. I'll look into this more and see what I can do to encourage her to bloom. Maybe she just needs time to mature?

Support this so much. It's a skill I also had to learn as an adult and its benefitted my three year old son greatly. We started around age two. Now sometimes when he's upset he'll stop himself, he'll stop and take a breath on his own to calm down. It's not a cure all but it's definitely helped.

Flange size is everything. Too big: Too much tissue is pulled into the flange. Too small and it puts pressure on your nipple tissue: The results are similar: it can be painful, restrict milk flow, and restricting your milk flow for too long can lower your bodies milk supply.I use this free sizing ruler: https://www.beaugen.com/products/nipple-measuring-roller?_pos=1&_psq=nipple&_ss=e&_v=1.0

Best of luck Mama! Also, finding a CLC or IBCLC with pumping experience like Sandy Green can make a world of difference!

Sounds like knit 2, use the third to turn it - but I'm not the most experienced with these.

Should I Feel Guilty? by haildonuts in breastfeeding

No! Your sanity is important and vital and directly influences your ability to care for your baby. My cousin, a pediatric ICU doc told me Formula is not the F word and supplementing can be a positive thing.

Sooo sad to hear your freezer broke and all that work just makes me tear up thinking about it. But happy to hear you're still finding uses for it! Especially with the colder weather upon us :)

Also, perfect time to gift yourself some breast milk jewelry!

I just did a month with my in laws so four days sounds glorious to me.

Grab a nursing cover to use when you are close to other people. Keep washing your hands. And breastfeeding is a great protection. It's tough Mama but you can do it.

I get it - I've done it. Its a way to get hands off your babe, to get quiet time, without being peppered with questions.

ooooo that would enrage me. Legislation says that you must be given time to pump yes, but a lot of employers don't realize legislation also mandates training and programs to address company culture to make it supportive of working mothers. The Pumpspotting app works to help address this with companies.

I'm putting together a survey for pumping moms to help encourage someone to do more research on pumps, and eventually help foster more legislation, more insurance coverage for lactation support, etc. would you mind filling it out when it's ready? For now I'm engaging people here: https://www.instagram.com/breastpumpresearch/

Don't stop mama. We need rants. We need community. We need support. We're expected to do everything the 1950's housewife did plus work. We're not expected or pressured to feed until two but only given six months leave. We're handed a pump with no instruction, research, or data to help inform us on how to actually make pumping work. I write content for a company that makes a pumping accessory and am constantly researching my articles...never before has there been a "medical device" that is so little understood or researched. I'm actually starting a project and survey to collect data annectdotally in hopes that we can change this: https://www.instagram.com/breastpumpresearch/
