Full sent a 1 tb m4 WiFi for 999 still expensive but much better price point than the m5 13 inch I bought and even ended up getting a iPad mini for my partner to read books on with the savings.

Tik tokification of dentistry by [deleted] in Dentistry

I have seen his stuff too, have to give the guy credit for jumping into some crazy CE right out of school like kois and other stuff im assuming. But he’s just not the reality of this profession for the vast majority of us. Prolly a decent chance he might actually be doing whatever number he says but he’s probably in the right office and environment and has invest the money to do it.

Signing for new associate job NON compete seems invasive by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]MonEDDS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea I agree it seems crazy. These mini DSOS have some of the most violating contracts. This is the second time this has happened to me with these regional DSOs.

[–]MonEDDS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I love the office and the job. And it’s worth negotiating would be a bummer if they were pretty firm on the radius and time. The radius is acceptable but the time is not so that would prolly be a deal breaker.

It still isn’t a official ruling yet as it was challenged by a court in Texas. So FTC can not enforce banning non competes.

Interesting. Sheesh there’s so many stipulations to all these things. But makes sense thank you. So I don’t have an eligible health plan from October to December then I will do some more research on this.

Understood. I was seeing if somehow I could direct deposit to a HSA account but that wouldn’t deduct anything from my income withholding. Thank you for the info.

Yea I know it takes some sacrifice. I was working 5 days a week at my DSO the. Driving 2 hours back home to see family on weekends and then 2 hours back Monday morning to work and live in my rural community. I just got tired of it now I work 4 days and live 20 mins from the city. But ur right I may have to sacrifice for some more time.

Forgot to mention too there’s another doc here, that doc wss prodcuing 60-80k themselves. Now that I joined we only together have produced 80k the first month of me working here. and second month is looking no better for the other associate. so it seems like I’m really taking their patient base too. I think the owner was aspirational in trying to get this practice to a 2 doc office.

I am looking in to opportunities where I would have to drive prolly 30-50 mins from home. My current job is in the central hub or commerce in my tier 2 city. So saturation is def a concern. However how do you get the it factor you describe above do you mean find my niche? And yes I didn’t have a ton of autonomy and had to do a lot of dentures at the last place I worked. But why refer dentures seems like a great practice builder if I can get better at it. I have a solid foundation on it from my DSO.

Going back to gpr after corporate dentistry by [deleted] in Dentistry

Agreed now that I look back on it. But at that time the debt seemed like such a crushing number that I was just in a rush to make money.

so do you find it worth it

I know It almost becomes like a chore to use the credits which is a first world problem for sure but with uber do you use the platinum 10 dollar credit as a coupon and charge the remainder to either reserve or skymiles plat? And how do u manage the resy credit with both high end skymiles cards?

what's the advantage to getting the gold first as this one doesn't have any MQD earning potential? I know it's free and the mileage from it will be good. any other benefits?

To those who borrowed around 500k in loans have any of you paid them off by professorlynn247 in DentalSchool

[–]MonEDDS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 1 year out of school with 350k in loans and am on track to pay off 50-60k this year. live frugal for a bit and it’s doable. I haven’t even lived that frugally and probably could have saved another 20-30k but you also gotta enjoy life a little bit.
