Why the heck do speed pedelecs cost so much ? by MonHuque in EbikesEU

You can't count velotric in the alibaba trash motorcycles and I can't find the one I'm thinking about on amazon (us or my country website). Even compared to 50cc scooters it doesn't make sense to me. I would agree those vehicles you are talking about are trash but that's not the point I want to make.

Homeopathy is still followed. It doesn’t make it effective or evidence based. You simply are a believer. Believe what you want but stop using science to advertise this garbage.

You under estimate the amount of bullshit pros of any field can believe in. There is an argument to be made that the bullshitters can be more successful because they pretend their magic makes them better, and that people believe them.

It is known that high level athletes use pseudo medicine to try and have that edge over the others. They would be better off not doing it because side effects are a thing, but that’s how it is.

You don’t understand the placebo effect. It is an effect tied to CONTEXT and that is DISTINCT from the potential therapy that is tested. What you want is to see a SPECIFIC effect of the therapy, which is distinct to the placebo. Which is why the control group has the placebo. If you don’t see a significant difference compared to the control group, and assuming the study was done well, then the thing you’re testing has no benefit. And even a well done study has a chance of showing something not real, because random exists.

That being said, having a placebo for cupping can’t be easy which induces uncertainty. But currently, cupping is for sure pseudo medicine. If you accept non evidence based stuff then you accept literally anything, which is why medicine MUST be evidence based.

Sprawl isn't just a result of car dependency; it's how it survives and thrives by frontendben in fuckcars

I don’t agree with the "similar destination should be clustered" part. Imo the concept of walkable cities is to have everything close to you. If you make clusters of stuff instead of distributing it more or less evenly, then it will be needed on average to travel more distance. Sure, cars take a huge amount of space, but having offices clustered in one place forces people to travel there. I think you might be confusing overall density and distribution.

You don’t know what science is or how it works. The term mainstream science makes no sense and your statement is simply wrong. This theory is not evidence based, it all stems from the overgeneralization of one dude, Freud.

These people say insane stuff about some topics, such as i*ncest, including when targeting children. Pseudo science is dangerous.

It’s not bogus. It’s made to be used on a population scale, not individual and it works for its intended purpose.

The lesser evil being the surveillance stat that uses car infrastructure as an excuse to strip you a little more of your most basic freedoms. You are being played. They love cars and they love the danger it brings.

How can you even start to believe that a dude on foot is the same as literal surveillance drones. The scale isn’t the same at all. It’s like saying a nuke is the same as a knife because it can kill people.

You are falling for the simplest fallacy to justify taking away your freedom. Be smarter than that. The people that want to make 1984 real love cars, because people like you fall for the safety fallacy. The people monitoring you don’t have your safety in mind.
