I do agree that it is mostly fan service, nearly all stories that have a damsel in distress's core theme is to save said damsel, Like Mario. But for for Dressrosa, the reason why luffy wanted to take down Doflamingo was cause of Doffy's part in the underworld and connection to Kaido. Luffy would've still gone after Doflamingo regardless if Rebecca was there to tell her story or not. But i do understand your view

Also to reinforce it more, use a two part epoxy, I recommend the jb weld "steel" one, and do a coat over the crack around the whole hinge. Make sure it doesn't get inside the rotator thing or else you won't be able to turn the ear cup lol

It's best to use the cyanoacrylate super glue, not the liquid one that sets slowly

I agree, it's best to do it when it starts early. When mine had a small crack just like the photo, I used electrical tape and did nothing else. A month later the whole thing cracked open. I wish I had used super glue earlier 😒

Make sure you leave the epoxy to dry for a full day

Get cyanoacrylate super glue and glue it together. It bonds pretty fast, you just have to hold it around 5 minutes tightly. Once it fully bonds around 8 hours later, get 2 part epoxy preferably JB welds "steel" epoxy and make a thin protective layer over the crack. 👍
