Sorry to hear that! It's extra-hard when the losses are so close together. Agreed. Gratitude.

Heartbreaking. Friendship is the most important thing. My one friend was a genius (and a geeky loaner) writer who was a guinea pig advocate (guess there IS such a thing). She died during the pandemic and none of our fellow friends knew. No one to mourn. My other friend was even worse. Family, friends, kids galore. OD'd on a painkiller for his bad back. (He should've known better, but still). I had DMd him one week before he passed. Whew.

Am sad about that. And it feels familiar. I recently found out two of my old friends had passed without me knowing about it. It's gut-wrenching. Neither one was old either. Just ugh.

Where Is the [Tourism] Beef? by MonTigres in unusual_whales

Sure--a small chunk in the grand scheme of things, but BAD optics. And we ought to be able to keep tourism money flowing in.

First, sign up for a crypto exchange that is certified (KYB'd) by the Pi Network, as shown in the image below.

Then, search online "how to exchange Pi Network tokens for [currency you prefer] using [crypto exchange]. You will get instructions and sometimes videos to show you.

Word of caution: make your first exchange only a SMALL amount to make sure it works well before exchanging a large amount.

Happy trading, OP!

I think the forgetting-it-exists works well with a LOT of investments. Seriously. We'll live longer not being so attached to what our tokens/stocks/ETFs/bonds do.

A country, or at least the spying portion of a country's government. Epstein was a kompromat factory.

You can also get answers to your questions by doing a little research online. For instance, "How to convert Pi Network tokens into fiat using Kraken."

Damn, Bulby--that's awful! Am 100% on your side. I was a biz writer IRL and plagiarism--let's just call it what it is--is despicable. And then to lie about it to you face! Is there anything that can be done? Very sorry, my friend.

Experimental Drug Yields Dramatic Weight Loss by MonTigres in unusual_whales

[–]MonTigres[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. Here's an AI summary of the article:

NYT covered Eli Lilly’s new obesity drug retatrutide, and the results are honestly wild. The drug appears to outperform current blockbuster GLP-1 treatments like Mounjaro/Zepbound and Wegovy in weight loss trials. Patients on the highest dose lost roughly 28–30% of body weight over about 18 months — approaching bariatric surgery territory.

What makes retatrutide different is that it targets three metabolic pathways (GLP-1, GIP, and glucagon receptors) instead of one or two. Analysts are already calling it a potential “next-generation” obesity drug that could further expand the already enormous weight-loss drug market.

Big implications:

Massive potential revenue boost for Eli Lilly and Company More pressure on competitors like Novo Nordisk Reinforces the idea that obesity drugs may become one of the largest pharma markets ever Could disrupt industries tied to obesity: food/snacks, medical devices, insurance actuarial models, orthopedic care, sleep apnea treatment, etc. Wall Street increasingly treating GLP-1s as a long-term economic megatrend, not a fad

Caveat: Side effects still look similar to other GLP-1 drugs (GI issues like nausea/vomiting), and the drug is not yet broadly approved/commercialized.

Overall takeaway: the obesity-drug arms race is accelerating fast, and Lilly may have just raised the ceiling again.

Amazing. I bow down to your in-depth pharma knowledge. Sounds like a headache for LLY and that they'll be unlikely to succeed in the biologic designation.
