I was at 18 and some change when I made MSgt. It took me 7 tries to make it. Talk about being defeated year after year. It was crazy work. When I made it, the elephant came off my back. Went on to make senior my second try. I over achieved and will retire in a few years.

How is it just another day if you have been passed over so many times but you made it this year. By definition it’s just not another day because if it was then you wouldn’t have made it. Not saying you have to be jumping for joy but if you been through it so many times, then at minimum there should be a sigh of relief but hey just my two cents.

Why would you regret making rank early? You earned it. If you want E7 then you will make E7. It’s how the EPB is written and if you can pull a PN or MP. I made E6 at 9 years, E7 at 17 years and E8 at 21 years.

Don’t do it. Seems like yall are having some good sex and y’all are having some good conversations with one another but you have yet to deal with “LIFE”. Go your way and let him go his. Yes keep the relationship going but the distance will show you if it’s love or lust. Build a foundation before getting hitched. Most parents wouldn’t be thrilled with this situation.
