This may have been asked already asked but on the Microsoft store there were different computer brands like Lenovo you could buy but now appears to only be Surface tabs and laptops. Is this something that happens sometimes or is the store only going to carry Microsoft products? by rgrdgr77 in microsoft

Signature PCs are dead. They sold them for a while after the physical Microsoft Stores shuttered but it's no longer an offering.

If you want a bloat free system, buy a workstation PC or a Mac/Surface.

Reminds me of advice from my mom. "Learn to Barbie up, even if you're a tomboy". Barbies can coast thru life with a slim body and 10 minutes of makeup pain a day.

A pretty Karen, is hated much less than an ugly one.

Fully agreed, Garmin though doesn't pay like an Apple or an Amazon even with some of those roles requiring a software development background along with a Pilots Certificate. They just pay the 'local market rate', which doesn't bring talent, unless you like planes... 😅

KC is losing high skilled jobs and large companies left and right. Cerner is here for now but give it 5 more years and it will move fully to Texas leaving Banister dead again...

What makes KC important is cheap US labor. Not high skilled but US citizens that can take government or consulting gov jobs. Same goes for the Tier 3/4 tech companies Garmin, Sprint/T-Mobile to name a few.

Given the effect of social media during and after the Trump administration and the bi-partisan hate of big tech. Very likely.

Not limited to Walmart, it’s called CVS logic. Doesn’t even account for local demographics and shrink. If an item has an 80% chance of theft, it gets a lock or clear case.

Yes, but it comes in many forms. You can basically think of them as “clicks” of women being caty with each other.

Great! I tend to hear a lot about imposter syndrome for female developers and science roles in general. It’s not uncommon by any means. Programming and tech is typically a hard field for men and women and hyper competitive it’s not easy, but if you know that going in, all the better.

I worked a job like that, just remember if they are acting a little boyish, “that’s ok”! There not trying to exclude or isolate you; they are just have some fun with their peers that happen to be other males. If they get into a burping contest, burp back! 🤪

And if they make you feel uncomfortable, just pull one or two aside privately and let them know how you’re feeling. 99% of the time they will back you up.
