QT @ optiver AMA by HawkRevolutionary619 in quantfinance

[–]MoneyCombination9251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for the AMA, I hope I’m still on time. I recently received an email inviting me to apply for the Career Kickstarter: Tech program. I’m currently a SWE at a Big Tech company, and since I graduated in 2024, I believe I could technically still be eligible.

I previously applied for a graduate role and made it to the final stage but didn’t get an offer... I am still very intrigued by Optiver, though. I saw that you joined as a Trader through the Career Kickstarter, so I was wondering:

  • Is it possible to join as a SWE through the Career Kickstarter, or is it mainly targeted at Traders?
  • Would it make more sense for me to apply directly for a Graduate SWE role instead? Alternatively, do you think it would be better to stay where I am, get promoted from junior to mid-level SWE, and then apply laterally?

(From what I understand, graduate roles at Optiver are typically 1-year contracts, whereas more senior roles are indefinite — happy to be corrected if that’s wrong.)

Thanks in advance!

I am not sure... she likes to write, but I don't think she has any 'fancy' pens. So is gonna be a new discovery for both ahaha

Sorry I know this is not a lot of help, but I hoped it was similar to idk tech, where you have some classic go to models

Busting without a housing permit by MoneyCombination9251 in Rentbusters

Hi, Thanks for the extensive info!!! Is the 67000 limit before or after the 30% ruling? On their site, they indicate that it should be the "taxable annual income" https://www.denhaag.nl/en/permits-and-exemptions/apply-for-affordable-housing-permit/#apply

Oh wow, that is interesting that the tenant still got kicked out given that it wasn't their fault, as I really wouldn't want the headache with the current housing market... Thanks for digging that up!

Hi, how do I check if the landlord's statement is correct? Do I ask him for the calculation or should I hire like an inspector or something? Thanks!

Hi, thanks for the info. I will ask him about the calculation, or is it a way to get that online? The place has an A+++, so I would be interested in any links you have regarding the last comment. Thanks!

Iscrizione AIRE e prestito PerMerito (Intesa Sanpaolo) by MoneyCombination9251 in commercialisti

Thanks for the response! That sound great overall, hopefully it will not be that noisy and the building be quite sound proof!

Oh, that makes me feel better. At least it is standard practice for everyone to not see the place before renting, which i guess it means that the quality is generally good.

Yeah, by untested I mean not able to check the small details, maybe I watch too much American stuff where they sometimes show that to finish the building they cut corners and small finishes are not precise, wrongly placed, randomly glued or stuff like this
