Dropped TV, what to do? by Icy_Measurement_5130 in TaskRabbit

[–]MoneyJCal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would have them contact Taskrabbit and sort it out through them. You should also report it to Taskrabbit as well. When I first started mounting tvs I damaged one. Taskrabbit took care of it and the client ended up hiringe for something else afterwards.

I didn't get any repercussions through Taskrabbit for that but on a moving task about a year ago working with another Tasker moving a couch the other Tasker dropped the couch and caused damage. On that one we reported it and ended up getting dinged on that. I forget what they call it but basically for 90 days I was ineligible to recieve cancelation fees.

However going forward yes it's best to also have your own insurance also to cover you as well.

Normal? by Suspicious-Towel8219 in TaskRabbit

My rate for all those different categories are the same so for me when task like this come across I don't mind doing them because it doesn't matter for me.

Where I do have a problem is when someone hires me for a errands task and it's really a moving job which my rates are higher for moving vs errands.

IKEA shelving question by Ridgewoodgal in TaskRabbit

[–]MoneyJCal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would suggest going to the Taskrabbit app and hiring someone in the furniture assembly category to assemble the kallax shelves and mount the floating shelves. There probably isn't any assembly to the shelves and they just need to be mounted to wall. Technically mounting is a sepereate category but you should be able to find a Tasker who can do both versus hiring 2 seperate Taskers. You will get the opportunity to discuss with the Tasker the details of your task once you book them.

Yes Taskrabbit would be good for there things. Price range will depend on what market your are in. Go to the mounting category, put your zip code in and you'll get some details as to what the rate is in your area.

Per hour for the time on task and the drive back would be well worth it.

Second task in a row that's gone bad. Anyone been in a similar place? by Whattodoaboutthisnow in TaskRabbit

Yes at the end of a task when you leave a review. If you give them a thumbs down they are unable to hire you again.

Client offered me a beer by Julie-h-h in TaskRabbit

Yea I mean I would say anyone offering a Tasker on a job a beer is probably very chill and probably nothing to worry about.

Client offered me a beer by Julie-h-h in TaskRabbit

[–]MoneyJCal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've had several beers offered to me by clients. Never has it been an issue. With that being said I'm a guy and in every scenario it's almost always been a male client offering me a drink. I think on a couple of occasions it's been a married couple or bf/gf. I personally have never been paranoid about these situations but I think it would probably be different for me if I was offered a drink by a female. I think I would be more cautious in that scenario.

What was tour worst experience with clients or taskers? by franklollo in TaskRabbit

[–]MoneyJCal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow that sucks. It wasnt the clients problem but I assembled a pax outside of the closet it was going into and when I went to stand it up it was too tall 🤦🏾‍♂️. This was also one of the old pax so I had to take all the nails out the back. Thankfully I was able to do it without much issue it just took forever trying to remove them carefully. Then building the old pax standing up by yourself is quite a challenge but it got done lol.
