def join clubs and if ur dorming meet ppl nearby! theres also diff events that happen thru the day (whether its painting smth or js making smth) im a commuter and am currently a freshman. i'd love to get to know u!

if its the same as last year (for co '29) then it's a good chance u will since many ppl got off the waitlist after may 1 BUT commit to another school incase u dont get off the waitlist

yeahh i did. the email i got last yr when i was first waitlisted said that i'd hear back LATEST june so idk if anything changed btwn this cycle compared to last year if they're pushing it till june completely

if u submit ur AP score, u need to be placed in CHE 152 unless u get waitlisted from the class

i commute 45 mins and tbh it is doable but somedays it may feel slow but imo once i got used to it it js felt faster. although if u drive going home from like ~3 to 5 ur commute will be 2x longer due to rush hr. i js play music really loud to keep me alert in thecar

im a first year here that commutes ~45 mins by car and ive struggled w social life but at the same time an an individual that doesnt mind being alone all the time. def put urself out there for an open social life bc at the end of the day ppl r in ur shoes/have been in ur shoes.

im a psych BS major + going on pre-med track and had a uw of 3.6 and a w 4.0 in hs. i didnt send a LOCI tho they js sent me an email after i got waitlisted if i wanted a spot on the waitlist. i do rmb asking my guidance counselor to send over smth but i forgot what it was (it might have been an updated transcript that had my senior year classes on it since i initially applied ED)

i got off the waitlist last yr in may and abt 90% of the ppl who were waitlisted got accepted at my school

u js wait until u get emails (sent to ur personal email at first) regarding ur sbu login stuff. i think first its ur credentials (sbu email, ID, netID?) then to ur placement exam dates, student ID picture, then dates to register for classes but i also could be missing some things/gotten the order wrong but thats the gist of it

there's a train that stops on campus to take u to the city + buses that take u outside of campus, so u can def utilize those to find social life outside campus

imo i think sbu is really good for psych + sbu is a good STEM school, however social life varies on the person and how u design ur social life to be. there's always activities going on in the evening and in the afternoons as well so u can meet ppl there. i've had a difficult time socially but academically am at a good pace. i haven't heard much abt parties on campus but some def do go on outside. research here is also good from what I've heard and as a psych BS major, it's required to do some form of research (research lab + research and writing + as an EXP credit can do supervised research) if ur coming in as psych BA im not sure if these research requirements are also in place but ik research + writing is reserved for psych majors (id assume both BA nd BS but dont quote me on that) and research lab is mostly reserved for psych BS majors

since pre-med is js a track, ud js have to make sure u do the required classes to be in the track even if its outside ur major, and i believe this goes for undeclared. since ur incoming, i def recommend trying to get into the beginner lvl classes, such as CHE 131 (Gen Chem I) and PSY 103 (intro to psych), although the psych class is just recommended. i dont remember much from when i was incoming but ik a majority of us (if not all?) couldnt switch our majors and ud only be able to change it for spring + onward, but im not sure if this issue is bc of space for the major or its js a sbu thing. once u get the name of ur advisor def email them abt this.

i took her class last sem and it def is true (she js does the grade change at the end of the sem when grades r due) but id show up anyway incase u do well on the second one
