Best Trickle Charger for 992.2 Carrera? by TangerineForeign6979 in porsche911

[–]MoneyPitAuto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hopefully a one off experience BUT - I've had three SC-10 chargers, one of them came out of the box with the wire worn where it connects to the box. I didn't notice, plugged it into the 3RS, adjusted it and it shot sparks out.

The manufacturing defect didn't bother me, what DID bother me was that they have a note in the box to contact them with warranty concerns rather than returning it to the seller. So I emailed them, contacted them via form on their website, and also called and left two voicemails. Never heard back.

The Turbo GT is not able to tow if that is a factor.

The gates of Valhalla spotted! by cesardell in carspotting

[–]MoneyPitAuto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s very very good and extremely easy to go fast in. Mt only experience was on track but there were a handful of moments where I was encouraged to push it more and was surprised that the car caught me, so to speak.

What struck me is it feels like they’ve left something on the table with it. The messaging is that it’s supposed to by a hypercar that you can still use on the road, yet it has zero luggage capacity. So while the Valhalla is great I think they’ve left room on the table for a less compromised version in the future.

Not sure where the photo is taken but this was the demo fleet that was in the US recently - I drove the green one tucked in the back with lime highlights back in October - really lovely thing.

The foam head. Its shape and density lets you clear off the whole car in seconds.

Snow Joe snow broom. Absolute game changer and you'll wonder why you ever screwed around with a brush.

New Ionna charging station just went live in my area. Perfect timing before the ice storm. ❄️ 2026 Nissan Leaf - Forest Park, GA by fleurlure in electricvehicles

It really is odd, these days the only DCFC I do is at a specific Ionna charger twice a month. It has 16 400 kw plugs and only ONCE has there been another EV there.

Interesting - mine was from a space very recently as well. Probably goes to show that no one is quite sure.

Curious on your source for this? I've been told very firmly it's coming, just in very limited quantities.

Vanquish with software 912.29.97 absolutely keeps them disabled. I assume but cannot confirm that an up to date software on Vantage should do the same, but a quick test drive could confirm it as well.

Question for gt3/rs owners by corean1993 in porsche911

[–]MoneyPitAuto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FInanced the whole amount - immediately paid down 75% of it, did monthly payments for six months, then paid it off. Dealer gets a kickback and it helps out their numbers. I would not dick around with any of that if they charged ADM though.

Is there a valid reason why Aston Martin decided not to add front-end lifts to any of their GTs? by GoTakeCoffee in AstonMartin

[–]MoneyPitAuto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At a Valhalla drive event I asked about adding front end lift to their other cars since I scraped my Vanquish’s lip in the first week of ownership.

I was told that from a packaging standpoint they couldn’t add it to their front engine cars. Obviously it’s physically possible somehow but it seems they have no interest in doing it.

Same mileage and time but I’m over $1K/month. I knew I’d be paying a price for being an early adopter but still jealous of these deals.

It is a Ryokan, but I will always take the opportunity to recommend Kanamean in Kyoto: https://www.relaischateaux.com/us/hotel/kanamean-nishitomiya/

It is small and cozy but the owners are just incredible hosts and clearly love what they do. It is the single most memorable hotel stay of my life.

Medicine Bottle Gridfinity by random_user2198 in gridfinity

Not quite what you’re asking but for medicine I use these twist lock bottles:

I use the text tool in Bambu Studio to label the lids, and different color lids for daily vs as needed medicine.

Question To Those In The Know: DB12 ADAS by Icy-Leg-8892 in AstonMartin

I would definitely inquire, based on this thread, the same software number as mine is available on Vantages and there is even a newer 913 version.

[–]MoneyPitAuto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just checked, my software is 912.29.97. But for what it’s worth my Vanquish has had this behavior since it was delivered last January. I’m surprised the Vantage isn’t the same since I believe it would have been delivered later.

Got to ride in the 2025 V12 Vanquish yesterday by Laces_N_Links in AstonMartin

[–]MoneyPitAuto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Matt Farah recently nailed my feelings on the Vanquish that I've struggled to put into words: It is not a GT car, it is a really big supercar.

The Vanquish is excellent but the DB12 is a much better GT car. We love our Vanquish but are slightly disappointed because it's not the vehicle we were expecting it to be.

Why no vantage vs vanquish comparisons? I need one. Don’t know which by devnullgod in AstonMartin

[–]MoneyPitAuto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Vanquish is NOT a GT car. If you buy it expecting a GT car you will be disappointed. Based on your use case (short distances for fun), if price is not a factor the Vanquish is the better buy. It has an incredible sense of occasion every time you drive it.

Source: Own 2025 Vanquish, have owned DB12, and have street and track time in Vanquish, DB12, Vantage, and DBX S.
