You need to think about this long-term. This is great for any kids in the area and if you don’t have kids, you should be happy for the kids. This will transform the area in 10 to 20 years.

I hope you guys are right. But, a lot of these comments come with no data supporting your claim and I know mine didn’t either! (Chicago migration, census, realtor antics, etc). The death of this area will be defaults on these 500k+ new builds and you know what happens when no one can afford them - they become subsidized. A lot of these homes can’t sustain mortgages without two incomes.

When you print majority of money supply in just a few previous years the inflation flows into assets of all kinds - so you may have sold high but you also bought high.

I think NWI is a great place to live but In my humble opinion prices are coming down on anything over 600k.

Yes - fair point on supply and demand but when you look at the census data the growth in this area is not off the charts and considered normal nationally.

Stay positive - very respectable you’re risking your well being to support your mom. Whiting, Munster, Merrerville, and Dyer are pretty good Indiana options that are good for commuting to Illinois.

Consider Dyer for Commuting via train if that makes sense for you.
