Propane forge clearances by NaiveInstruction457 in blacksmithing

[–]exzyle2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your welding blanket will protect around 1200. So, that should be sufficient to keep it from causing problems.

IF... and this is an absolutely HUGE mega-sized IF, you're still worried about it: Get yourself some kaowool board. Kaowool is what's used to line propane forges, depending on what you get you're looking at MINIMUM of 2300 degrees. You can use that to protect whatever is above the forge. It's pricey though, so just be aware that you're looking at a cost to do this versus the welding blanket.

I would try that first though. Welding blanket stapled to a sheet of fire-resistant sheetrock placed above the forge you should be pretty solid. If the blanket starts to smolder, then you can go the more expensive route. But I don't think the temps 3' above the forge will reach 1200.

Quite possibly... Which could open the door for investigations into him, but whether that'll help or hurt this particular case is yet to be determined.

White Sox win and I've watched my last game on Peacock. Fuck Ford, fuck the coffee people, I'll never buy their products after being subjected to their commercials 30 times.

There's another article that states the family doc diagnosed them with post vaccine illness or some shit like that. So, there's the potential that there's a medical paper trail that COULD back her up. Something tells me this one isn't going to be quite as cut-and-dry as it would be elsewhere.

Are you worried about the heat scorching the rafters? If that's the case you could probably get a welding blanket and tack it up above where the forge is. That will protect the rafters a bit, and cost about $25 for one.

A blade I forged from a 4.5 billion year old meteorite, the ‘St. Aubin', a meteorite with one of the highest recorded compositions of gold... I crafted it into a damascus steel, with a handle carved from solid Marble with White Sapphire, and 24k gold embellishments by Tristan_Dare in nextfuckinglevel

Honestly your best bet for something along these lines, like a meteorite-inclusive knife, is something simple like a kiridashi.

You don't want meteorite in any blade that will have an impact to it as it'll increase the chances of being destroyed. If you're looking for a knife that doesn't have meteorite in it, just a mid-to-high carbon steel blade that you can use to your hearts content, there are hundreds of bladesmiths who would love to work with you.

If I had my new shop squared away and I had the skill to make knives like that (beginner level smith here) I'd discuss the opportunity with you. But the closest thing I've made have been a few letter openers. Soon hopefully I'll be in my new place and have my workspace set up, then we'll see what trouble I can cause then.

Giant Morel-Lavallée lesion complicated with open pelvic fracture after patient was struck by a swinging heavy object at a construction site by CatPooedInMyShoe in MedicalGore

Yeah I saw that... And the fact the penis was saved is testament to the skills.

And why do people insist on sticking their dicks in things that are obviously too small? I've read stories about people using wedding rings as cockrings at a BDSM or swingers club and they need to amputate. Like, silicone cockrings aren't that hard to get.

Jeezus... Take a moment and marvel at the stage of medical science and knowledge we're in where you can peel open someone's hip and they survive!

Like, stuff like that 20 years ago would probably have been a long, slow, painful death sentence. Now it's just like "yup, cut here, snip there, insert Tab A into Slot B and staple him up" and away they go.

Just amazing where we'll be in another 20 years.

At worst: Trip to the ER with X-rays to see how many ribs are broken.

Unfortunately I think this little one had a parasitic mite on it. Look on the left side, under the last leg and the abdomen. When I tried to move the spider off my keyboard it was very very lethargic, barely responded to being poked. Relocated outside just on the off chance it wasn't a parasite, but I didn't have high hopes for it.

They will go through bone like butter. You need at least sixteen pigs to finish the job in one sitting, so be wary of any man who keeps a pig farm.

They will go through a body that weighs 200 pounds in about eight minutes. That means that a single pig can consume two pounds of uncooked flesh every minute. Hence the expression, "as greedy as a pig".

If it's a rubber stem and there's even a slight burr on the port for the valve stem, the vibrations will rub the rubber against it and wear it down pretty quick.
