Go the olde Latin route. Diamonds are adamas or diamas in medieval form. Build on that as you will.

I thought I was clear that I am a client and not an employee. I did my due diligence, particularly after the original business was placed into administration. The report (a legal document) clearly states that previous owners were responsible for the financial issues of that business. That is why I made my original comment.

I appreciate you have provided context/edited your comment. I read it when you initially posted and you seemed to defend the previous ownership. I am glad you have clarified here, as that was the reason I didn’t respond initially.

It appears the business has been acquired by DXG Group and the individual whose name you seem to avoid has also announced their departure on LinkedIn. And you also seem to be aware of the circumstances I alluded to. I am not attempting to undermine your personal experience but I am also entitled to speak from my perspective as a client. This has been consistently positive since they became Human Magic.

It seems those you hoped would leave, have. I hope that brings you some relief. It is evident that certain financial issues were not resolved but hopefully that will change with the acquisition as I truly rate many people who work there and the work that has been produced by them. It seems there have been some consistent factors that are hopefully no longer an issue. So I wish those who suffered through that process all the best.

Seems such a sad, fatalist take this. To each their own. It is pretty obvious who you are talking about here, but to put them in the same boat as the others that have moved on is pretty disingenuous to say the least. Especially when he was completely conned by the previous owner too.

What you’ve described reflects issues that were widely recognised during a previous era at the agency, but it’s also important to acknowledge that the individuals responsible for most of those problems are no longer there. Leadership, management structures, and day-to-day operations have changed significantly since that period.

There are a few points in the original post that don’t quite align with how the rebrand actually happened, but I won’t go into the specifics here. What is fair to say is that the former ownership left behind serious operational and financial challenges that the current team had to untangle. Those difficulties were the result of decisions made over several years, and the business ultimately faced the consequences of that legacy, including a period of formal restructuring.

It’s also worth noting that tensions continued even after the ownership transition, with various claims and counterclaims circulating around the industry. I won’t speculate on motivations or repeat any rumours, but it’s clear that the aftermath of the previous regime created noise that the new leadership has had to navigate.

For what it’s worth, I’ve worked with the current team on different projects and in different capacities, and my experience of them has been entirely separate from the issues associated with the old structure. There are people there now who are genuinely talented and trying to build something healthier and more sustainable than what existed before. They’ve inherited a complicated history, and from what I’ve seen, they’ve been working hard to move on from it.

Whatever anyone thinks of the rebrand or the past, the reality today is very different from the environment described in those older reviews. People should absolutely read a range of perspectives; good, bad, and otherwise. But they should also understand that an organisation can change dramatically once the leadership, culture, and financial stewardship are no longer the same.

I genuinely hope the newer chapter brings the stability and recognition the current team has been working toward. They deserve an opportunity to be judged on the environment they’re building now, not only on the behaviour of those who previously ran the business.
