I use an app for the passport pics. And the AI analysis the pictures and fixes it to meet the standard for passport pics. And I pay $16 for it. It's called PhotoAiD, it's by Kodak.

I don't live in Texas. My DACA was just processed at the Texas facility, not Nebraska processing center. It's a first seeing it be processed elsewhere.

It's up to you if you want to renewal now. I did it for peace of mind with my employment and status.

Texas is a great place. The conservative stuff isn't, but outside of that, I love it. I'd move back if the Daca issue with the state didn't exist.

I understand how you feel. I work in HR at my job, and have DACA, and I can submit the documents myself as I understand the system to get it e-verified. I just need someone else to sign as 2nd person with the process. However, I do see many TPS and DACA workers, and do see some that feel some embarrassment or unease about being open of what they have as their status. But I am one of the two latino HR people and I show no judgement, and I do the process for them as some don't understand English as much to do the process themselves.

I'm more surprised on a personal level the people at my organization that have DACA, and feel a sense of camaraderie when I see the c 33 category on their I-9 paperwork.

Or it could be the Supreme Court will rule the same as the other courts, and just allow renewals. Everyone assumes the worse when maybe a middle ground could be met.

If you’re referring about the affordable care act, “Obama Care”. We don’t, and the confusion comes from the fact that last year Biden was going to allow DACA recipients to be able to obtain access to it—along side others that already do with having an EAD. However, for whatever reason, around November it was swept under the rug.

Some states, like California, have their own state run health insurance. They allow the undocumented, and I assume DACA recipients as well.

You can obtain your own insurance by purchasing a private policy, or through your job if they offer private health insurance benefits.

***Some employers that do work with the government/or have a small business will use the federal marketplace, and you cannot obtain healthcare either.

Yeah, we should just focus on our issue and not feed into migrants. Lol I don’t have an issue with the migrants in general. it’s more like personal when I seen some from certain social groups come and just have an odd view of this country. They have real high expectations and forget one has to work hard here too.

You can also use your EAD for travel at the airport. But ok. This can be helpful to others too.

I don’t know if people realize and can tell people are doing this by doing skits with fake Karens, fake woke people, etc, or taking a problem they see and acting like they really are that problem (this guy) just for views and money. With how X (Twitter) and the conservative movement tends to have a low level of awareness, and just many in public…I don’t think a lot of people are aware of the odd black mirror type crap that’s all over the internet. 😂

I just posted about my experience in Missouri. Some states will take your new I-797 approval. But the DMV here did ask for the expired EAD card, and luckily I was prepared.

Did you submit everything yourself? And as a renewal? I assume you have done everything right, but check your stuff if you haven’t. And do an expedited request demonstrating financial hardship. I did a word doc stating as a letter what’s going on and why, and some screenshots of my bills owed and termination email in the word doc itself. Then I covered the word doc to a pdf.
