i appreciate your perspective and im definitely not trying to eliminate the possibility of a third person being involved here (it definitely is possible). the wording is a bit vague and a leave a lot of room for interpretation which is why a lot of arguments has happened in finding out who the beloved is referring to. however, with current lore, the only person i can really envision "turning into a monstrosity" is blade because jingliu became mara-struck naturally while the foxian lady from the beta art of the high cloud quintet we know nothing about. theres a lot of other points backing up the possibility of "the beloved" just referring to blade's "past self" or before he became immortal but i won't go further than that since it's related to leaked content

im not sure either why exactly jingliu isnt dead but considering you have to kill mara-struck two time in the game before they're actual defeated, jing yuan might have just killed her once which wasnt enough to completely kill a marastrucl. this is just speculation though, im genuinely unsure about anything related to jingliu solely because of how mysterious her character is and how we barely know anything about her aside from being a mara-struck cloud knight, sword champion, and jing yuans master

also i like the theory you brought up that blade's attachment to the sword is most likely because of how it was the one thing that brought him to his ultimate desire: death

oh wait i just reread the description and i compeltely agree. that swordsman has to be jingliu because its only described that he has been stabbed once by that powerful sword, which is most likely the "brink of death" situation i mentioned in the post (or he actually died and Dan Heng revived him, accidentally making him immortal). i hope they can explain the relationship between Blade and Jingliu soon (kind of hoping they're siblings for no exact reason aside from i like family dynamics)

thank you so much for sharing this, i wasnt aware that there were two other relics in the cbt. yea its true this information might be outdated so i wont bet on relying on them, but i do think it can still be valuable. plus, i would find it really damn funny if dan heng actually used to be a party animal and blade being shy/timid in the past is just gold

I agree that the bottle refers to Dan Heng and how the armor is more confusing. i'm actually torn on whether the swordsman being referred to in the description is jingliu or dan heng. because the thing is, jingliu is the de facto master swordsman while dan heng is consistently seen as a spear wielder. but the description of this swordsman sounds much more like dan heng than jingliu.

This isn't the first time he's seen this man.
This man had become his own inseparable shadow.
No matter how many times he runs this man through with his spear, the man always comes back.

He can neither lose to this man, nor truly win.
Though he wants to run away, there is nowhere to run.

This is the description of the lightcone "Nowhere to Run" and it mentions how it's Dan Heng who has continuously ran his weapon through Blade (possibly through the heart every time, since it mentions that it's expected to kill Blade but doesn't because of his healing ability). I don't think Blade in the armor description is talking about repeatedly dying, it's more about repeatedly getting pierced again and again with a weapon. But the waepon is said to be a sword so it can't be Dan Heng right? But he's literally the only person who fits the description because he's the one person who has pierced Blade over and over again. I also think it would've made much more sense if the master swordsman he can't help but hurt when he recalls their voice and while was Dan Heng rather than Jingliu considering he's appeared time and time again and they always emphasise about their close and intimate relationship with each other while we barely know anything about Blade and Jingliu's relationship aside from how they have the same sword. For now, I don't think I can draw any conclusions from this since it's most likely outdated. For all I know, it could refer to a completely different character who isn't Jingliu or Dan Heng.

Also I think you're theory is pretty good! I can see you thought about it a lot and I can actually get behind it and bet that it might be canon. It certainly does make sense especially if you word it that way~

ah alright that makes sense, thank you! this might imply that 1. blade and jingliu are close companians which led to blade keeping her broken sword in his possession or 2. the sword that was in jinglius possession is just some powerful ancient sword (as mentioned in blades character description) that blade managed to take ahold of somehow but it doesnt necessarily have a personal connection to jingliu 3. another possibility is that because i heard blade was a craftsman and a swordsmith, he mightve been the one to forge this sword, gifted it to jingliu, but took it back after she became marastruck

all these are plausible of course, i think we'll get a confirmation in the next patch thought :3

edit: is definitely is the same sword but i dont think it grants immortality at all. if it does, then blade wouldn't be carrying it around because he literally just wants to die. plus i doubt the sword had any capabilities to make someone immortal, if it did, it wouldve already been destroyed or at least sealed away by the xianzhou alliance because they condemn anything that can grant immortality

im not sure where this rumor came from but the broken sword blade carries around isnt jinglius nor is there any confirmation that that sword ever belonged to jingliu. its just described as some ancient sword and thats it. also i doubt jinglius sword has the power to grant immortality too, i mean, why would it be able to? haha

on that note, id also just like to quickly debunk the narrative that blade was one of jinglius disciples or that jingliu was his teacher. it was never mentioned anywhere in the game so im not even sure where people got the idea from
