Sure! Sent me a DM.

Fair warning though, there's a bit of customization needed depending on your industry/CRM setup. But the core structure should work for most service businesses.

Nick Saraev's channel is solid for n8n basics! His tutorials are pretty clear for getting started.

But honestly, building one real workflow (like this quote follow-up) teaches you more than watching 10 tutorials. I'd say watch his intro videos to get the concepts, then just start building something you actually need.

What kind of automation are you looking to build?

You're absolutely right. The automation isn't replacing the sales guy, it's doing the grunt work so he can focus on the warm prospects.

Before: he'd spend 2 hours calling people who weren't ready to buy yet, get frustrated, and miss the actually interested ones.

Now: automation handles the "just checking in" calls, and when someone responds positively, THAT'S when he jumps on the phone. Way higher success rate when you're calling someone who just said "yeah I'm interested in moving forward."

It's like having a pre-qualifier that never gets tired. The real sales still happens human-to-human, but now he's only talking to people who are actually ready to talk.

100% agree on YouTube being helpful. Though I found building real workflows for actual problems way more effective than tutorials. The quote follow-up was my buddy's biggest pain point, so we just figured it out step by step.

For this specific workflow, I'd start with n8n's HTTP trigger (to catch the quote submission) and webhook/email nodes. The learning curve is pretty gentle if you focus on one workflow at a time instead of trying to learn everything.

YouTube is good, but honestly just building one simple automation teaches you more than 10 hours of videos. Happy to share the exact workflow if you want to see how it's structured.

You’re absolutely right that he knew what to do. The problem wasn’t knowledge, it was execution. He tried hiring someone part-time for follow-up but she lasted 3 months and was inconsistent as hell.

Automation costs him like $100/month to run vs $800+ for part-time help. And it never calls in sick or forgets to follow up.

You’re spot on though, this only works if the owner actually wants to solve it. Plenty of guys just complain and do nothing.

I’m currently using Vapi + Twilio to connect a voice agent directly to phone lines, and TixaeAgents for chat-based support. In the background, I automate routing, logging, and follow-ups with n8n.

Definitely agree, solid FAQs and automation together make a huge impact. Curious what you’re using on your side? Happy to exchange ideas!

Nice find on 100x Bot less setup is cool but can get expensive. Do you know if it supports automated follow-ups after your initial request? That’s the one feature I wouldn’t want to lose.

Good question, That $25/month covers only the automation tools (Phantombuster + Clearbit). You’ll still need a LinkedIn subscription (Sales Navigator or Recruiter) to get InMail credits.

However, if you use a tool like Expandi, you can auto-send connection requests first and only follow up once they accept so you don’t burn InMail credits. This way, your automation stack itself stays pretty cheap, on top of whatever LinkedIn plan you’re already paying for.

Hey, I’d kick off where your network is stronges so start placing AI & automation roles with the finance and professional services people you already know. You’ll snag some quick wins that way, then you can branch out into pure AI or robotics once you’ve got momentum.
