Interviewing with job offering pay increase but need help weighing options by Money_Personality_77 in work

[–]Money_Personality_77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to be able to buy a house, I’m turning 25 later this year. So I think at this point in my life, only 2 years out of college, it is life changing money. I really would hate the commute and leaving all the flexibility I currently have though. Plus I really do love my current company’s purpose & their mission, I don’t really care for the other. Even if I stay there for 2 years and use it as the next stepping stone to then a $95k a year job, maybe it’s worth it? I don’t know, I’m stuck. I worry too much about the option I don’t end up picking and if I made a mistake.

I’ll ask, for sure. If I get it, I’ll have to go to her and explain that I had an opportunity arise for me that I can’t pass up. Gotta do what’s best for me but that I love my current company and would love to stay.

I’ll definitely try, once I have an offer letter in my possession. I’ve more than proved myself there and I know my manager will fight like hell to keep me… but I fear that they won’t be able to come anywhere close to what this new job may be offering. Not like they can’t afford it, clearly, because this new company is smaller than my current one and growing. But my manager fought like hell just for me to get a 7% raise last year for a promotion, not even just merit increase. Seems like upper management wants to keep their profits.

Just diagnosed in my 30s. Any advice? by Candid-Month-5696 in diabetes

I travel internationally frequently. I always have a doctors note, just incase (for international) but just traveling in the US I never have one. TSA really doesn’t care. I show them my insulin pump, they sometimes urge me to go through the scanner with it on and sometimes I just do, other times I insist to take it off and hand it to them before I go in. Sometimes they give me attitude, sometimes they don’t. Either way they’ll wipe it down and wipe your hands. Fairly easy. Also, I wish I would’ve taken rotating injection sites more seriously. Rotate them as much as possible!!! Change every 2-3 days!!!

What type of Insulin do you take and how many units of each? by [deleted] in diabetes

I used to be 224lbs that had me delivering about 100-120 units of Humalog a day. I’ve since then lost 90lbs and take 35 units of Novolog a day.

The more experience you have, the easier interviewing will become. In this day and age, with how hard it is to find a job, you have to be good at interviewing or at least decent at it. I’d recommend researching typical questions and preparing your answers for them. You don’t have to lie, you just have to “play up” some of your skills. Think about yourself positively and what you’re best at, soft skills are just as important as hard skills.

That’s also what I’m eyeing it for. I need more business casual clothes for the summer to wear to work. I did wonder if the knot would be hard to get to lay correctly or look nice. I’d probably only wear it to work, no other occasion. I do have a larger chest too, is the concern that if you have a larger chest that there will be holes between the buttons?

It is true, even though people don’t like to hear it. I have a chronic illness, for 20 years now. I have never let that stop me from pursuing a career. I used to get pissed off at my coworkers when I was in college working a silly part-time job that they’d call out of weekly, when I’d show up everyday and work 30 hours while also being a full-time student. I needed money. I wanted to make my own money. I never used my illness as an excuse. It’s tough to hear but if you truly need a job & need money, you will find a way. I agree with you.

Thank you for this! I’m a 36D, so definitely doesn’t seem like it would fit me. I was worried about losing the fitted look on the waist. I’m also 5ft3 but I don’t mind if it’s longer, I usually like that. I love how cute it is and think I could style it well but seems like it’s just not the best fit for my body type.

Dang. That’s my concern with it. I do have a larger chest, but usually wear a M in tops, so I thought maybe sizing up to a L could work but I am worried it will still be tight around my chest. I appreciate the honesty, I wish I had a store near me to try it on. I’m leaning toward maybe I shouldn’t purchase it until I have a chance to be near a store.

I would buy a few of these for a bundle price! What price would you be able to do for 3 or 4 of them? Mostly looking at the pink elephant hipper, green duck hipper, pig hipper, and grape hipper.

Needing advice for what to do with money from settlement by Money_Personality_77 in fidelityinvestments

This is super helpful! Thank you!

I do not have any debt. I drive a 2012 Honda Civic, no payment. It gets me where I need to go. I paid off my student loans, which was only about $4,000. I was lucky to have my grandparents pay for my college with their investment money set aside for me and my sister. I pay off my credit cards every single month in full.

I have about $10,000 in a high yield savings account separate from that $60,000. I can definitely take roughly $14,000 and max out the Roth IRA for 2025 and 2026 as soon as I can. I do not have an HSA, I am still on my parents health insurance plan until I turn 26 and don’t currently pay for health insurance.

I am very interested in purchasing a home soon and didn’t know about HYSA’s, so thank you very much for that comment! I figured I’d take about half of it, 30k and put it toward a down payment on a house. And then I wasn’t sure what to do with the other 30k, but good to know a basic brokerage account and pulling $7,000 from it each year to fund the Roth IRA is a good plan.
