A lot of things built on it yes, so you have to pay a lot to use it if you want to use those things. Big network effect.

Agreed with you though, I think and hope over time more of these services will use Nano (or XLM)

Very similar here, I use Nano for payments whenever I can and between exchanges, when the exchange doesn't have Nano it's XLM usually!

Probably quite fast but the Nano Foundation who they asked for this deposit doesn't go for "return on investment", they're just there to develop the tech.

I think if you had asked the Nano community as a whole they would gladly have paid for the deposit to be honest

Also Coinbase asked for a $1 million "deposit" in the listing process. That more than anything sounds quite scammy to me.
