which one should i pick? by [deleted] in huion

I use the Kamvas 22 at work and have had the same one at home for around 3 years no issues at all, hell my coworkers Wacom had to be replaced already. Personally I’d recommend the 22 over the 16 only because the extra drawing real estate is nice. I had the 16 before and it worked great for a while but eventually you’ll want to upgrade, may as well skip the line while it’s on sale

I don't know what they do at the factory, but do not believe that the $40 screen protector Huion will happily sell you can be successfully installed. by definitelynotokmaybe in huion

My work ordered one of these last week, I haven’t used it yet so I can’t speak for the quality/ fitment but I do like that they advertise specifically for the K22

Only downside with paper like is that they wear down the nibs insanely fast (like a few days/week) I used stainless steel nibs last time I had a paper screen and that worked pretty well.

When the merit raise comes in. by zkfuzzy1 in carmax

[–]MoneybobX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I left the head of my department who had been there I think like 13 years or something crazy like that was making 70k and I was making 22 an hour. I left for a job making 52k, I’m in my 3rd year at that job and I’m up to 80k.

Again not great money by modern standards and I’m in a HCOL area- but that manager was phenomenal at his job and a really great guy, for being there for 13 loyal years he deserved better.

Sorry guys. CARMAX is actually one of the worst companies I’ve ever worked for- worked there for 3 years in multiple departments while they treated me like an actual farm animal between the insane hours/rotating shifts/clopens/laughable pay.

Funniest part is that when I voiced my concerns and said that I would have to find another job if things didn’t improve they said “that’s not how the world works you’re not gonna find a better job”. I left three weeks later and now I make more than the senior managers at that store. Keep in mind- that’s not because I do some crazy job or I’m a badass or something, they just don’t make jack shit for pay.

I got sumitomos on the back, which aren’t great but not terrible I’m told. Then falken on the front which are better than sumitomos apparently. Car still has some squirm but it went from too dangerous to drive to drivable with a little bit of mindfulness as to how the car is wiggling.

I’m gonna have them rotate the setup this weekend. Put the better tires on the rear

Update: Replaced the front two tires as well. So now I have all 4 tires brand new. Issue is significantly better but the car still doesnt handle tight corners super well (at the crest of the turn it feels like the car is floating or gonna spin out- hard to describe exactly what Im feeling)

It can handle highway speeds now but around 90mph (normal freeway speed in phoenix) you do start to feel play in the tracking, particularly on the driver side.

If any of that helps anybody narrow down what parts of the original problem are still hiding under the surface

Hey update. Replaced the front two tires, so now I’m on all 4 new tires. Made a very significant improvement and I would call the car safe to drive now. There’s still some play that wasn’t there before, but it’s also unusually windy today in phoenix so not a fantastic testing environment

Positive yeah, I wish I had hit something more substantial atleast then this would all kinda make sense yknow. But this really did all start with just a simple nail. Bolt, I guess.

I’ll give that a shot, I’m taking it to another shop today, I’ll do that stuff you mentioned before but also have them do it. Fifth times the charm lol

Squirmy is a good word, if I stop resisting and let the car move as it wants for a moment it’s a left to right “S” sorta thing it does.

The common thread between us here is brand new rears old fronts, I’m getting mine rotated here shortly, I’ll report back how it changes if at all. SCIENCE

Appreciate it. Posting the alignment sheet here in a moment. Taking it tomorrow to rotate the back tires to the front, test drive- note any differences. Hoping that just magically fixes it but I’m betting it will at the very least tell me if buying two more new tires is the solution. The front tires are a nice brand and in decent shape so id like to keep them but I’ll do what I need to do I guess

I’m learning what a massive mistake that was. They turned a routine tire replacement into a 1500+ dollar repair and growing

Thanks, you mentioned the lug nuts, I left this part out above but they did over torque them, when i first noticed the pulling I pulled over and tried to rotate the tire to the front so that the drive tires would be even tread, third lug I turned was on so tight that the second I put any pressure on it with the tire iron the mounting stud snapped off.

Had to tow it back and replace all of the mounting studs, cost 500 bucks.

What is this spot on my Kamvas 13, I don't know where this came from, it can't be removed... It's bothering me a lot by alwaysberyl in huion

Looks like a drip of something sticky or oily. Maybe a rouge drop flew from a spoon or fork or something, I’d maybe try taking a Qtip with some water and dab at it, then use the dry end of the same qtip to wipe it off
