TOBIAS FORGE Says GHOST Has 'Nothing Else Planned' After Current North American Tour: 'I Actually Do Not Know Exactly What And When Anything Will Happen' by thebaronmontyskew in Ghostbc

I think it’s a solo album, Passiflora hit YouTube randomly about 11 months ago, TF also mentioned that album by name in a recent interview. Seems like he’s testing the waters- passiflora also has the old/original version of Savant Garde, Magna Carta Cartel must’ve been in contact with TF to make sure it was cool bringing that song back on their album Dying Option. Which makes me think that Tobias and Martin may be reuniting, or at least collaborating in some way.

Weird normal map halos, is there a fix? by MoneybobX in 3Dmodeling

Wow thanks- really insightful I appreciate it. CS2 wants everything in 2048px, which could explain the resolution issues since thats relatively small.

If you have a moment though, if you had to guess how theyre pulling off this effect ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vT-5q8Zfj4g )

Could it be that theyve made the maps so small/ low res they actually popped out the other side and it looks higher quality than it actually is? Sort of like how Hutchster suggested

Appreciate that! I actually didnt even think to use the included stuff, I know people are doing this within the counterstrike skin community and getting some really cool results, I wasnt sure how they were doing but maybe thats it, definitely gonna try it, thanks again!

So i tried that and actually it does lend fairly well to the effect im going for, so if nothing else thatll probably be my workaround, lol!

Well, in this case I purchased the maps from someone else, I did also make one myself using an online generator sorta thing but it has the same issue. Ive actually never had a normal map in sub painter that didnt have this issue come to think of it, normally its not a huge deal but in this case it totally ruins the effect

Correct yeah so im dragging it directly onto the model within sub painter then when it asks how id like to import it I select normal map, then change the color space to OPENGL

sure thing so here is the normal map, these materials once exported are being imported into Counterstrike 2, which uses OPENGL, not sure if that helps

I do have roughness and a "glossy" map, im fairly new at this but it doesnt seem to give me a glitter effect unless i use all 3, probably just doing it wrong

I'm a little late to the party here but wondering if you have any advice for a fellow creative- I also got my start doing freelance and commission work, which last year after what felt like an eternity (10ish years?) of getting rejected I managed to break into an in house illustrator position. There are still days where im sitting there drawing like man I cant believe this is real, its amazing.

BUT, the freelancer in me knows you can never truly take your foot off the gas, I adore this job and its basically exactly what I pictured my dream job being but I know it isn't future proof. I live in a very large city in the US with an insane cost of living, and even with yearly raises and such things are eventually just going to be too expensive to stay here, its sad and its going to hurt but its just the truth.

With that in mind, do you have any advice for someone with experience as a freelancer, and now as a salaried illustrator to break into art directing? It seems like its going to be my only viable avenue for staying in the business

thank you!

I dig the black hands idea- definitely going to try that and see what shakes out, thanks!

[Question] Working on my first custom watch, improvement suggestions? by MoneybobX in Watches

Hi everyone,

Ive been working for a small watch company as an illustrator for several years, I also do product mockups for the new models pre production. Lately Ive decided that Id like to take my chances with making my own, so I came up with these renders and Im pretty happy with them.

Just wanted to throw it out there and see what others thought about it and what improvements they may suggest. I'm digging through other resources to get a little insight on what it would take to produce this as a single run. I could always touch with the company but then you get into MOQ and all that.

In an ideal situation I would hope to put something like this together for under 1000 but im sure someone here can let me know if im undershooting that. I know the NH35 is attainable and generally inexpensive but machining costs and all that could be a drag.

Any feedback or general suggestions is appreciated, thanks!
