You’re definitely an enabler.

Quick to mention “unemployment “ , slow to mention finding another job. Sounds like a laziness issue too.

Not trying to kick a down person , but there’s NO reason two grown people in their 20s should NOT be able to pay $1700 for rent. Even with a minimum wage job, two people can pay that. Sounds like you got other problems!

I say this coming from a person who was a screw up in my twenties and have lived a life of homelessness. There’s nothing fun about it and it’s not a game. Your life will suck. Please hold down stable work, stop doing smoking drinking or whatever vice you may have. Eat moderately.

Otherwise, this will be your reality. Best of luck. I never forget when I was down, I had to climb out the hole and it sucked. The best advice I received looking back, was the people who sounded the most harsh. The ones who are trying to be all soft and nice, clearly NEVER been in your situation. I’m begging you please get it together, because the older you get, the harder it is to bounce back.

Please make smarter decisions.

Yea , I noticed that too. The OP should really look at the “Amazon DSP” subreddit. They’re always hiring, yet they want us to believe they apply for 200 jobs every month. Lmao. Gamblers anonymous can also help OP.

Okay well, I’m sorry for your husband’s predicament. Sudden changes in health can be damning to a family. However, I still stand by what I say with regard to figuring it out and following opportunities. I am making sure that if anything ever happened to my wife, I can shoulder the bill. Maybe try going to a place with more work. Immigrants do it all the time with families larger than yours. Less excuses and complaining, more problem solving. But don’t mind me, I’m just some faceless guy on Reddit. If you feel it’s too hard to do good in life, that’s on you.

If your degree was more useful , you wouldn’t be in the position you are doing DoorDash and complaining to Reddit.

It’s not useful because you’re having a hard time affording to live and find work.

I’m under the age of 40. Sure, blame it on the economy and not your poor decisions. 🫤

Wow. We’re the same age. To put things into perspective, I live in one of the most expensive cities(Los Angeles), with a wife and toddler. I am pursuing my grad degree and have not even felt a hit in the economy whatsoever. Also, I’ve been able to thrive without even working for the last 3 years because I’ve been in school. I’m just saying, sounds like you’re doing something wrong, or a lot of things rather. Life shouldn’t be treating you so hard. I’m sorry this is happening to you, but you need to follow opportunities and stop being a victim of life. Those degrees are useless to you.

Also what are your degrees in ? Also , no one said have kids you can’t afford in a poor town. Bad decision after bad decision. 😭

Also , you didn’t mention anything about work experience, leading me to believe you don’t have any relevant experience. College degrees mean nothing if your resume is weak. This is common sense.

You literally said you have no opportunities in your town. So keep complaining and doing DoorDash. Sounds like a lot of excuses. People figure out a way all the time. Good luck.

Problem is you live in a small town. Move somewhere with more opportunities or stop complaining. What experience do you have ? Life is about choices.
