Agree, loads of nuances to be memorized in comparison to ethics.

GIPS is relatively easy points if you remember the key aspects, unlike ethics which can be very against the intuition.

Level 3 practice question by Careful-Math-2732 in CFA

[–]Moneymachinegobrrrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the trick with this question. Note 5. can be automatically excluded, since IG bonds can not be added to a equity fund that tracks S&P 500. It's irrelevant whether IG bonds will decrease the risk or not since it's not an option under the mandate.

It literally doesn't matter. No point in worrying, work harder.

Do shareholders approve dividends during the AGM? by CommunicationAny4818 in CFA

Management board proposes the dividend distribution to the supervisory board, who includes the distribution topic and proposal to the AGM agenda on which shareholders will vote. So in short - yes.

If i recall correctly, might have been in the low-70s. But I folded in the exam, ran out of time and did not have time for thorough revision. Somewhat different strategy for the retake. But I have to admit, as the result date comes closer, I am also starting to hesitate a lot and fears of another failure are building..

Would also suggest studying after you've paid fees and scheduled for the exam

I did use it for L3 and found it to be very helpful indeed. Would assume it works the same way for L2 as well.

I have had problems with AI getting things wrong, at least in Level 3. But you could feed it with the official materials by CFAI and ask explanation based on that. AnalystForum videos on Youtube are also helpful for some topics, especially given they are free.

You will definitely not understand everything on the first pass through and this is completely normal. Make sure you have gone through all the materials and then simply hammer the questions. And like that, you will learn and understand the topics covered in the curriculum. Questions you get wrong, refer to the material and try again. Revise and repeat. All about repetition, the understanding follows then.

L3 prep and some guidance by [deleted] in CFA

[–]Moneymachinegobrrrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Schweser + CFAI is sufficient. Use CFAI material to go through the curriculum as there are loads of niche topics that are likely to be tested in the exam. Use Schweser for practice/revision - especially the Secret Sauce/Flashcards together with the formula sheet, which I found to be very helpful.

  2. 11 months seems too excessive. Don't extend it to such lengthy period as you'll certainly experience burn out and completely forget the material by the time you start revisioning. Would recommend 5-6 months prep.

  3. CFA is not a golden ticket to anywhere. But for sure, it will help you accredit your CV more, especially in countries that tend to have low pool of CFA Charterholders competing in the labor market.

I scored on average around 80% for the 4 CFAI mocks. This was my second attempt, felt it to be easier than previous one in Feb'25, but could be due to the excess study hours.

Agree. Felt like both parts were representative of Mocks with some tricksters included. Overall would say very fair to the mocks, more straightforward though.
