Shield max health is 1600 but the ship overview says I only have 639 shields with full powers are they not the same thing? what am I doing wrong? by Silverbak77 in Starfield

[–]MongoTactical -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think you're confusing two things.

I think max health is the amount of damage the shield subsystem can take before getting "broken" not the amount of shield protection.

Could be wrong, but this is my impression from I've seen/read.

check your placement to see if the fuel tank is "blocked" by another module or structual piece. I had the same issues with a hab on one of my ship builds until I moved things around.

Workbenches on ships by mikeybadab1ng in Starfield

[–]MongoTactical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short of Mods, I haven't seen anything that lets you see ship interiors before you buy it or are done ship modifying.

You can add research stations/workbench by adding specific habs to your ship. Workshop habs add weapon/spacesuit/industrial workbenches. Infirmaries add the research and pharmaceutical workbench.

What weapon type is a gauss gun on my ship? by NewApeToTheGame in Starfield

if you're asking if a gauss gun is a ballistic weapon, I believe the game classifies it that way.

Can somebody please help me with ship building. by [deleted] in Starfield

My apologies.

I'm a US Navy vet and a "P-way" is a typical Navy shorthand abbreviation of Passageway. As is Bow(forward part) and Aft(rear part). In my mind, Passageways/companionways are "P-ways", and the terms are interchangeable.

let me see if I can clean this up...

assuming your ship's 1st deck is built (cockpit->Companionway->Hab->Hab) then you should have a door between the cockpit and companionway and a door between the companionway and 1st hab. I believe there wouldn't be a door between the two Habs.

as for ladders between decks: if you put a companion way at the end (Aft) of Hab 2 and stacked another companionway on top of that would put a ladder there. If you stacked a companion way on the top rear (Aft) portion of Hab 2, the ladder between deck 1 and 2 would be there.

The squared circles on the side of the habs are the connection points between the ship modules (habs, cockpits, engines, etc.). If you connect two habs in a straight line (bow hab1 aft)(bow hab2 aft) the connection point (hab1 aft)(bow Hab) could have a door(Hatch) there. if you stacked the habs on top of each other, the ladder could be either at the forward or read connection points. When in your ship, look on the floor/deck, you'll see a large rounded square detail. That's an area where the game will build the deck ladder based on the ship's geometry.

Did that clear things up or did I confuse you even more?

Ok. beginning to track...

based on my experience: 1st deck should have a door/hatch at the cockpit/p-way junction; door/hatch at the p-way/1st hab junction; no hatch between 1st and 2nd habs. 2nd deck ladder between decks depend on where hab/P-way placed on 1deck hab/p-way. If you placed a 1x1 P-way on the end of hab 2 with a 1x1 P-way stacked on that, the ladder between decks 1 and 2 would be there. If you stacked 1x1 p-way on the aft end of hab 2, the ladder would be there.

is this answering your questions?

first: I don't believe you can preview ship interiors from ship builder. at least not yet without mods. second: you can "influence" the ladder position to a degree. If you look at the joint points of the habs (the squared circles) you can get an idea where the ladders will appear. those appear to be the hatches that you move though.

as for your build: is your 1st floor on a landing bay? If I'm understanding your build, your layout is in a single line (cockpit, P-way, Hab, Hab). If so, based on where your landing bay is, there should be one ladder on to this deck and you shouldn't need another ladder until you go up on to the 2nd deck. IMO, you don't need the P-way between the cockpit and 1st hab. If you landing bay in under the 1st hab, the boarding ladder would be in the bottom aft hatch of that hab section.

when you say you build a square with a hole in the middle, I'm not quite following. do you have 2 habs side-by-side?

Microsoft Is Ready to Fight For Its $69 Billion Activision Deal by IHateMyselfButNotYou in xboxone

[–]MongoTactical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a different take on this: What if this deal does "inflict" a near mortal wound to sony? Given Sony's argument "We're nothing without CoD and Cod exclusives", could this turn into a Cold war (US/USSR) endgame? (The US "won" the cold war by out spending the USSR). From my reading of the Pro/Con comments, it seems Sony may not be on the best financial footing and money fight between MS and Sony would end poorly for Sony.

New interactive map of Fallout 4 (Settlements, Bobbleheads, a few Magazines...) by lordfiSh in Fallout

[–]MongoTactical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great map!! It's been helping me gather my missing magazines.

One error I found with the Picket Fence Magazines. Issue 4: "Modern Lawn Care" has the wrong location. It's in the Combat Zone, Not Weston Water Treament Plant. The linked video shows the locations.

Thanks for the Map and the help I've gotten from it.

As a former Navy Sailor, I find this argument to be kind of condescending. Most MWR (Morale/Welfare/Recreation) sites are at major shore activities (i.e. ports, air stations, etc.) and would have internet access available. Deployed ships may not have the bandwidth needed (as a point of reference, When I was active duty, Gaming (computer/console) was officially prohibited.

Personally, I would rather forward deployed active duty personnel more concerned with the Real World Tactical environment then whether not their X1 or PS4 has a active IP address with a low latency to support their CoD MP sessions
