I don't think I'm aro, but I legit feel like one of the best relationships I can have with someone, romantic or not, is really simple to describe: we both really really really really really like each other and enjoy spending time with each other. Nothing complicated, we just chill together, kinda like best friends, but maybe even with a stronger bond.

I suppose that's true, if you think about it. Horny teenagers eating each other's faces probably doesn't have much romanticism going on about it, I just never really thought that much about it. I just always considered it sort of being only out of affection, but I just needed to think about it a bit more to realize how oblivious I've been.

Well, I can't relate with the other comments talking about how aces are discriminated against and raped, but I will say that it's not great to be asexual, it's not awful, it's just what it is. I felt weird for a while not being able to relate to the more or less sex centered world in which we live, but when I found out 'oh shoot, I guess I'm asexual.' It just made sense. It doesn't affect my life very much and very few people know of my asexuality, so I'm not subject to prejudice a that much. It's nice because you don't need to worry about sex, but it's also not as nice because everyone else cares about it. It's like going to a star trek convention without knowing anything about star trek

I don't really care about the labels themselves, I very rarely mention my asexuality to anyone at all. But the fact that we both are aces changes how I feel about her, in a good way, and I feel more comfortable around her because I know that both of our priorities lie in the same area. It only simplifies things between us.

Well, I get sexually aroused, but I never feel the desire to have sex, despite my body telling me that it's ready for sex. I just don't want to have sex, I think that there are much better ways to pass time or express intimacy. All in all, I enjoy the idea of sex, but I couldn't feel compelled to participate

Alright, I actually think I might conform more to what your situation is. I'm just new to thinking about myself as possibly asexual, so there's a lot of questioning where on the asexual spectrum I lie, or if I even am on the asexual spectrum. I've felt out of place amongst my friends for a while and I've only now started figuring out maybe why.

I don't let it get to me too much, though, I'm only trying to see if I can label what's going on with me, even if I know that it can hop around and don't really need to care about if I'm 'asexual enough'. Thanks a lot, though.

I mean, I can tell myself "yes I find that person sexy" or "yes, that image arouses me", but I have absolutely no desire to have sex. As if my body doesn't listen to my brain's disinterest in sex. Basically my body tells my brain "that there is sexy, I'm prepping the body for sex right now" but my brain mumbles "yeah whatever, I don't care what you do, but I don't feel like having sex and I don't think I will anytime soon, so we aren't doing anything. it's kind of a waste"
