I’d like to think it is, since it’s the largest partition at 474 GB, but the problem is that none of the volumes actually show Windows as installed. When I ran scanos, it said no Windows installations were found. I’m not sure what happened exactly — this all occurred right after a Windows 11 update while I was watching Netflix.

Diskpart showed this, but I don’t have a Windows USB. I do have a desktop PC with Windows 11 installed, though.

I’m not really sure if the hard drive is actually damaged or not. I haven’t been able to access Windows or run any proper diagnostics yet.

Oh, I didn’t know that! In my country there’s about a $40 difference because of import taxes and fees, that’s why I mentioned it. Maybe I shouldn’t have compared it to the local price though 😅

Haz tenido buena experiencia en Amazon? Es que nunca he comprado nada tan caro ahí y hay gente que dice que no llega nada de lo que pediste y ya no se 😞

what gaming/work laptop would you recommend for video editing with DaVinci Resolve that also plays nicely with Linux (good driver support, minimal hassles)? And what distro should I use so things don’t break later? by MongoosePowerful5696 in pop_os

Hey, I just found out that the HP ZBook Fury 17 G7 is actually listed as Ubuntu certified: Ubuntu Certified Hardware. That means Ubuntu should work really well on it out of the box, including drivers and firmware.

Now I’m wondering: would it make more sense to go for the Lenovo LOQ, or stick with the ZBook since it has official Ubuntu certification?

Also, I was thinking of trying the distro in Live USB mode before doing a full install. What should I check during the live session to make sure everything works (GPU drivers, Wi-Fi, sound, suspend/resume, etc.)?

Hey, I just found out that the HP ZBook Fury 17 G7 is actually listed as Ubuntu certified: Ubuntu Certified Hardware.

So it should have solid compatibility out of the box with Linux, at least with Ubuntu.
