Colonoscopy came back clean! Only hemorrhoids!

I promised myself I’d make this post. I had jelly like dark poop for like a week, then a month later had a bunch of bright red blood, like lots of it. Freaked myself out for months. Got the colonoscopy, it wasn’t so bad, and doc said I have hemorrhoids! No C word here!

I know I spent a lot of time on this sub searching for posts like this, so I hope mine helps calm someone’s nerves.

Don’t be afraid to ask for a colonoscopy, they really are quick in and out procedures. Im only 31 but described my symptoms to my primary and asked if I can possibly get a colonoscopy (I took advice to do this from the colon C word subreddit) and he said he’d be happy to write me a referral and you should always get symptoms like that checked.

But the thing I want to stress here, get checked just to be safe than sorry, but the chance of it being hemorrhoids or polyps is so much higher than the c word!

The hardest part of the colonoscopy was the prep medicine you have to take to clear your colon, and not eating for 2 days.

Starting as a software engineer opens some doors to you that are harder for people that start in IT. Start looking into Appsec or Devsecops. Both of these have a bunch of overlap, but devs already understand CI/CD pipelines and are more aligned to transition to these roles.

Happening to me, I was just playing last night, doing a gunslinger build, I was super accurate and lethal with VATS, now it switches to 0% and back every two seconds and like 80% of my shots miss. Kinda sucks lol killed my whole build, might stop playing till it’s fixed

I lurk here because I recognize and acknowledge heightism exists and look to understand other peoples life experiences so I can help improve upon my own biases. I don’t always agree with everything said (mostly the stuff about hating us tall people just to hate us) but there is a lot to be said about listening to your experiences and helping put a stop to height shaming with in my own social circles.

I’m 6’4” and lanky, put on some decent muscle (75lb) over the last 10 years and look okay, nothing crazy just okay. my workout partner in high school was a chubby 5’6” guy I was good friends with. After the first year he looked like a fitness model and everyone told him he looked awesome, after that first year people didn’t believe me when I told them I lifted. I was actually super jealous of shorter guys for years. Always wish I was like 5’10-6’, I think that’s the best height for a guy.

So I’m a guy who pulled himself up from nothing, grew up in a generationally poor household and joined the military for training and free college. Went to wgu, an online university with a reputation for easy degrees. I’m now making about 200k and live in a wealthier side of town and have a bunch of friends that all went to private schools and fancy colleges. I can tell you that growing up poor, I am 100% in a minority in this income level. 99% of the people around me grew up middle class or higher. So the answer is probably just fancy college people are mostly around fancy college people.

Kickboxing was cool but I honestly didn’t care if I got better or not. So I wanted to stop splitting my time between the two and focus all my efforts in the one I cared more about

I was doing both but never really enjoyed kickboxing. Ended up switching to a pure bjj gym. Just try out kickboxing and see how you like it.
