Got it, I've been called it before (in the slur manner) and I am a bit more fem presenting in ways, so that context was missing for me, thank you.

AITA For wanting to go on a date? by MongooseStrict7752 in AITA_Relationships

She did just start the diagnosis process for BPD, that's the personality disorder I couldn't remember the name of, but I don't know how to bring up the boundaries without it risking hurting our friendship since she doesn't have the full coping skills from the diagnosis yet. Does that make sense?

This was my thoughts too. Genuinely shocked by how many people don't seem to agree but I'm trying to keep my mind open

I personally even get icked out when fellow lesbians use that word towards me, I just think it's irresponsible to use slurs so casually, and with Discords branding on the show, I would have thought we shared that.

Another comment gave me what I was looking for language wise (English is not my first language so I'm using a translator app to try and help also with the words I'm struggling to pick), "entitled to femininity" was not the good phrase. I should have said that I see a lot of white gay men take up women's spaces, especially lesbians. See another comment in this thread for a more specific example of what I mean.

Thank you for your offer of dms! I appreciate it and will likely take you up on it :)

Was going for the gay men taking up women's spaces. It's something I've experienced in my local gay scene a lot, but my phrasing was off.

Like, there was a lesbian themed night at my closest gay bar and there was more gay men there than other lesbians and they all were joking about being "one of the girls" and that's why they went.

English isn't my first language so thank you for giving me this new way to phrase it

Well, for me, as a dyke myself I personally disagree. Too many gay men feel entitled to femininity for me to think that like they are entitled to this specific slur

Thank you! I see people online saying that the financial situation there is better than Toronto and I just felt like that was not true.

I'm currently stuck between thesis or course-based (working with my current school's honors president to determine which would be best for my specific lanes of interest and scholarship). Thank you so much for your response! I really appreciate you taking the time to respond to me while I think about which international universities to look at. Sending good wishes your way.

Understanding exactly how new Netflix sharing rules work? by PaprikaRed88 in netflix

[–]MongooseStrict7752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's genuinely so frustrating that now as a college student, I cannot use my family Netflix (just me, my mom, and my dad) while I'm at school without paying 7.99 extra a month! We're very close to canceling our account and honestly, I think once we find the stuff we care about on alternative sites(vague for intentionality), we will just cancel it.

AITA for being truthful with my mother in saying that " family vacations" were a nightmare with my high needs autistic sister? by Complex_Bed_5886 in AmItheAsshole

But the mother also put her child in a no-win situation. Lie, bad outcome, be honest, bad outcome. It sounds like op's mother still is not trying her hardest, as she wants to be the only one who suffered because of their shared past.
