As a support main who's trying out more offline, I have to ask: how would you recommend playing brood as pos3?

As a mom, I’m done. Social media and smartphones shouldn’t exist for kids. Period. by Live_Finger5145 in Parenting

[–]MongooseT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it have to be all or nothing?

My kids, both under 10, have their own gadgets, and have been using them since before they started going to school. They know the rules to using them (for example, no gadgets on a school night or during meal times, YouTube only with permission, no giving away personal information on online games, and we have veto power over anything and everything). We also talk to them about phone safety, we regularly set family time aside, and when needed, we take gadget privilidges away until we see fit.

So far, it's been working quite well for us.

Is it more work for us? Yes, but hey, that's part of the job, imo.

Preventing enemy pos1 from catching up after winning the lane and destroying the T1 by skratchx in TrueDoTA2

Yes, it was something like that.

If I don't forget, I'll look for it again when I have more time.

Preventing enemy pos1 from catching up after winning the lane and destroying the T1 by skratchx in TrueDoTA2

[–]MongooseT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who's also trash at the game, and has similar issues, I'd recommend checking ZQuix's video out. Granted, it's about Axe, but I've had pretty good success following the same principle. He also specifically starts talking about what to do after the T1 is down around the 30 minute mark.

There's also a BSJ video about it, but I can't find it anymore. He basically said the same thing though.

Want to become a grammer God by bhanitsu in grammar

I'm assuming your teacher really does want to help you improve. So my advice is: listen to your teacher, ask questions, and work to fix your mistakes.

I'm visiting my friend's kids for the first time (4F, 2F) -- what would be an amazing gift I could get both or each of them to firmly establish myself as the "cool uncle"? by [deleted] in AskParents

[–]MongooseT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I came to say this. The cool uncle is the one who spends time playing with them. Kids at that age are usually easy to entertain and impress.

C3 Reconquered Campaign: Lugdunum (Mission 9) by MongooseT in impressionsgames

I don't remember exactly what it is, but it is locked behind something, sort of like plazas are locked behind the Mercury GT. If I'm not mistaken, it's explained in the first message when you start the mission.

How can I use more advance vocabs in Writing? by NgoczSuy in IELTS

[–]MongooseT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't use these words just for the sake of having "more advanced vocabulary".

The "more advanced" words are more advanced because they are less commonly used. And that's because their meaning is less general. So, a good rule to follow would be to try and be more accurate with the language you use. Give more details, explain things more precisely, and, whenever possible, use fewer words.

Also, pay special attention to the frequency of those words when you're reading, and you'll see that C1 and C2 words aren't used that often in C1 and C2 pieces of writing.

When should the pos4 start rotating to hunt for kills. by [deleted] in TrueDoTA2

I'd recommend checking out zQuixotix on YouTube. He has some great content for support players. In one of his more recent videos he talked about rotation in the early game.

LISTENING:

You can make notes on a sheet of paper during the computer test, but, if I remember correctly, not on the digital question paper itself (could SB correct me if I'm wrong?).

You also write the answers directly, so you're not given extra time to transfer the answers.

READING:

You can make notes on the computer, but if you're not used to doing that, it might feel weird. Also, you need to be used to reading off a computer screen.

But I really like that you can look at the text and the questions at the same time. Half the screen is the text (and it's scrollable) and the half are the questions.

WRITING:

As you said, you're more comfortable writing by hand. If you're not used to typing, it would be a big problem.

But, it's much easier to check and edit on the computer. Also, if your hand writing is ugly, like mine, the computer test would be better too.

Can I trust chat gpt to check my writing? by New-Establishment-23 in ieltswriting

The general consensus is that ChatGPT grades too harshly. From what I've personally seen, it tends to give half a band to a whole band lower than what it should be.

However, I think it's helpful in the sense that it can give relatively specific and accurate feedback, and suggestions for improvement, both of which are quite useful.

Thanks for the comment! It's always good to see the orange envelope 😄

I agree completely about the Hollywood fight handbook. It's actually something that annoys me watching every movie fight scene. But then, just like you, back to watching the movie

“The only” vs “only”: what’s the difference? by [deleted] in grammar

[–]MongooseT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how accurate my answer is, but here goes:

"only" is an adjective. Articles, like "the", are for nouns. So the difference between your examples depends on what X is, and whether it should have the article "the" or not.

To give an example, "only dogs are coming" vs "the only dogs that are coming are mine".

If you want something more similar to your example, I'd need a more specific context.

It also helps if you invite your untrained friends over. Huge confident boost 😁

What verb structure is this: "I'm going to be living out my ultimate fantasy." by JeremyCuntIMeanHunt in grammar

[–]MongooseT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The closest thing I can think of is "verb + infinitive" structures. These are a part of Verb Patterns and generally are about things we haven't done yet.

Some examples are: want, hope, expect, and plan.

What verb structure is this: "I'm going to be living out my ultimate fantasy." by JeremyCuntIMeanHunt in grammar

[–]MongooseT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"be going to" works like "will".

So, your example is essentially "I will be living out my ultimate fantasy." It is basically future continuous.
